Foot Locker Northeast moving to Long Island

Due to construction at Van Cortlandt Park, the 2009 Foot Locker Northeast Regional Championships will be moving east to Long Island’s Sunken Meadow State Park, according to Foot Locker Northeast coordinator Phil Zodda.  The challenging 5000 meter Sunken Meadow course, best known for Cardiac Hill, has played host in the past to the New York State Federation Championships, the National Junior College Championships and most recently, the 2008 New York State Public HS Cross Country Championships.  There will be a number of invitationals run at Sunken Meadow this fall, allowing runners to get a chance to have a look at the course under race conditions, including:

Sept 12 – Jim Smith Invite
Sept 17 – Bob Pratt Inv
Sept  26 – Suffolk Coaches Inv
Oct 3 – St Anthony’s Inv
Oct 10 – Suffolk Cty Track Coaches XC Inv
