After five weeks at the top spot, Hillsborough slips a single notch to No. 2 after losing to Randolph, 66-73, in the state Group 4 race. These two teams are expected to stage another great battle when New Jersey harrier action concludes with the 38th Meet of Champions, on Saturday at Holmdel. The girls race takes place at 10 a.m.

NJ #3 Holy Angels of Demarest made a strong move upwards after winning a highly-competitive Non-Public A race.  NJ #9 Red Bank Catholic moved up one notch for placing second, and #10 Pingry of Martinsville continued its dream season by placing third in that race and moving into the top 10 in the poll for the first time in recent history.
NJ #4 Voorhees of Glen Gardner captured its third straight Group 3 title, and it will be joined at the M of C by #18 Hopewell Valley and #24 Seneca. NJ #4 Hunterdon Central, NJ #4 South Brunswick and NJ #5 Ridge placed third, fourth and fifth, respectively, in the Group 4 race. Hunterdon Central qualified automatically for the M of C while South Brunswick and Ridge snagged the two wild card berths.

The poll continues with a pair of Group 4 schools, #13 Bridgewater-Raritan, up six spots, and #14 Toms River North. These school failed to scrape through the brutal Group 4 race, but Bridgewater did manage to snag the first of 10 individual wild cards for the M of C when senior Cara Talty placed 11th overall in 19:34.
