Springer and East Greenwich dominate Rookie xc runner clocks best time of the day

Class A - Bishop Hendricken boys 44 over LaSalle 61; LaSalle girls 35 over Coventry 72
Class B -South Kingston boys 43 over Barrington 65; Barrington girls 33 over Westerly 60
Class C - East Greenwich boys 35 over Smithfield 68; East Greenwich girls 22 over Smithfield 56
Class A Highlights
LaSalle’s Connor Mercurio (16:05) took top honors, but Bishop Hendricken places 3 in the top 7 to take boys team title
Jenna Riley's 18:41 winner gave Coventry a low number, but LaSalle places 4 runners in the top 10 to take girls team title by 37
Class B Highlights
South Kingston was able to put 4 runners in before runner-up Barrington could get 2 runners over the line to claim the boys team title by 22.
Westerly got a 1-2 finish from Andrew Springer (15:57), in his 1st year of cross country, and Tim O’Loughin (16:13).
Barrington girls had all scorers in before runner-up Westerly had 3 in. Emily Siskind (19:19) gave Barrington a sweep of the girls titles
Class C Highlights
East Greenwich had a solid 1-2-4 punch to take the boys team title by 33. Mark Feigen (West Greenwich) runs away from the field to win by 33 seconds in 16:35.
Six in the top 10 leads to a romp by East Greenwich girls and a sweep of the team titles. Katharine Meinertz (Smithfield)is the only runner able to hang with the East Greenwich top 4 and breaks away to take the individual crown by 10 seconds in 20:16.
