| Highlights
- Host Monsignor Farrell won the boys varsity team title over a strong state-ranked MSIT, 25 to 38, placing their top four 2-3-4-5, all within 9 seconds.
- 2007 Cross-Country All-Stater Joe Brancale of MSIT led all the harriers across the line in 16:36.
- On the girls side, MSIT took first overall by two points over St. John Villa (who apparently ran their JV team).
- All the teams braved the threat of Hurricane Hanna at the Rob Breen Invitational at Clove Lakes Park over a very challenging 5k course out on Staten Island.

PREVIEW - In June of 2004, senior-to-be Robert Breen of Staten Island's Monsignor Farrell High School was hit and killed crossing the street following an early summer run. Since 2006, a meet in his honor has been one of the meets to kick off the New York cross country season. This year is no different as teams will gather at Clove Lakes Park on Staten Island to get the season rolling over a difficult 5000 meter course.
