Team Analysis

1. Belvidere North -
a strong run with a 2nd place finish at Sterling against AAA #2 Geneva. North is looking strong led by Sophomore Paul Zeman. A strong 33 second split will make this team tough to beat.

2. Normal University - continues to run strong week after week finishing 2nd last Saturday at East Peoria. Sophomore James Clay just won the individual race by 1 second over Jon Richards of Streator. 2-5 man 14 second split is making believers out of more and more people.

3. Springfield - off. Running at Peoria this Saturday.

4. Dixon - Ran great at Sterling finishing in 3rd, 9 points behind #1 Belvidere North. Strong front trio in Kasey Ferrigan, Kyle Boone and Matt Logan, the Dukes found a 4th man in Freshman Zach Payne. 55 second split right now, is putting themselves in great position for a strong November run.

5. Galesburg - After winning at Dunlap last week, the Silver Streaks responded with a strong 3rd place finish at East Peoria. Gabe Moreno continues to look strong as Galesburg's #1 man, their 5th man is too far back and will be their down fall if they can't move him forward.

6. Sycamore - Running without #1 man Matthew Gilmer, Sycamore finished 5th at Sterling. Tyson Kinsley finished 14th to lead the defending AA champs.

7. Maple Park Kaneland - continue to be a mystery team in AA keeping some of their top runners on the Frosh / Soph level. Finished 6th Saturday at Sterling.

8. Troy Triad - off. Hosting Invite on Wednesday.

9. Peoria Notre Dame - off. at Peoria Central Invite on Saturday.

10. Yorkville - ran 2nd to a tough AAA Aurora Marmion team at Aurora Central Catholic.

11. Wheaton Academy - 4th at Aurora Central Catholic. Mark Phillips continues to look like a contender for the individual AA crown, running 2nd to Andrew Larson of Marmion.

12. Bloomington - ran their best race of the year so far last Saturday at East Peoria, finishing 4th.

13. Metamora - off last week, but rebounded with a tough 2nd place finish on 9/20 at Dunlap.

14. Richmond-Burton - made a statement winning the Grant Invitational. Ian Sanchez has emerged as the #1 man for RB.

15. Crystal Lake Central - finished 17th at the powerful AAA Palatine Invite, Ryan Alvarez continues to amaze in his first Cross Country season finishing in the top 10.

16. Oak Forest - A team on the rise. Won The Tinley Park Invite on Saturday over sectional rival Illiana Christian.

17. Rochelle - held some runners out while placing 9th at Sterling.

18. Illiana Christian - Ran good at Tinley Park, but was not good enough to defeat Oak Forest. Best race of the year so far for Illiana.

19. Breese Mater Dei - off...at Troy Triad on Wednesday.

20. Glenbard South - not that impressive at Loyola finishing 20th at the Lakefront Invite, but their Frosh / Soph squad easily won their race. Watch for 3-4 runners from this team up on varsity soon.

21. Fenton - Nathan Smith continues to be the top man for the Bison...finished 20th at Palatine.
