The state’s No. 1-rated team in this division, Coronado, showed its strength by placing its first six runners in the top seven places, led by a 1-2 finish from juniors Annie Lovering (17:30) and Sadie Gimber (17:38). The Islanders’ first five were separated by just 65 seconds. And that’s with the defending division champion Sallie Privett placing fourth overall, giving the team expectations of even better things at Woodward Park. The 18 points were the team low for the day.
