Two little miles are all that stood between Molly Huddle and an undefeated season on the track. Megan Kaltenbach's fastest mile of the season beat Huddle's US#2 at AOC Raleigh, and Nicole Blood surprised Huddle with a stretch kick at the Loucks Games. Both losses came after Huddle ran 8 lappers the night before. When she was fresh for the mile, Huddle won the Nike Indoor Classic in 4:46.42, US#1 for the indoor season and nearly a second faster than Huddle ran at Raleigh. If Huddle "sacrificed" her mile at Raleigh in favor of the 2-mile, it was worth it. Running entirely alone with a lead that stretched throughout, Molly ran 10:01.08 for a new national record. Huddle will still run for "Notre Dame" next year, but it will be the university version at South Bend IN.
