Elzie Coleman sped into the all time record book twice on consecutive Saturdays in January. First came the 400 meter national record of 46.58 at the Hispanic Games Jan 10, breaking the legendary William Reed's 1986 record.

A week later in the Stanner Games, Coleman came within 0.09 second of Reed's 300 meter national record (33.19), even after straining a groin muscle in the prelim at the Stanner Games. Coleman settled for 33.28 in the final, good for US#3 all time.

Coleman also ran a 22.11 200 meters at the New Haven Inv in December for #3 on the 2004 DyeStat Elite indoor national list.

Coleman's outdoor PR in the 400 is 46.33 at AOC Raleigh last June, when he ran second to Xavier Carter and ahead of Reggie Witherspoon. His indoor record has fans salivating for a rematch with the X-Man outdoors. It could come at the Mobile Challenge of Champions April 3.

Natasha Hastings first came to national attention 3 years ago with a 24.38 200m that broke Marion Jones' freshman class record. Last year, Natasha set an overall national record at 1:11.84 in the indoor 500 meters. She also ranks #2 on the all time indoor list at 300 meters (37.77) and #5 on the all time indoor list at 400 meters (53.56).

So far this indoor season, after signing early to join the U. of South Carolina's crack sprint corps next year, Hastings leads the DyeStat Elite national rankings in three events off wins in the New York Armory's high octane schedule: 200 meters in 24.34, 300 meters in 38.38, and 400 meters in 54.21.
