Armory announces new series for 2006 indoor season NEW YORK, NY 3/24/2005 -- Dr. Norbert Sander, president of the The Armory Foundation, announced a new Armory Collegiate Track Series to featured in the 2006 indoor season at the New York Armory. The series will consist of eight Friday night sessions with leading college teams. Each meet will have an MVP -- one male and one female. Power team scoring will be cumulative through the series and will integrate in some way with the big Armory Collegiate Games in the Armory in early February. Meets will feature highly competitive seeded events in a 90-minute evening session to maximize fan interest. There will be play-by-play announcing, music, and possible television coverage. Some existing meets will be merged into the new series. Tentative schedule: Jan 6 Fordham Kickoff, Jan 13 NYC Gotham Cup, Jan 20 Great Dane Classic, Jan 27 Princeton Invitational, Feb 3-4 New Balance Invitational, Feb 10 Lafayette-Rider Winter Games, Feb 17 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships, and Feb 24 NYU Fast Track Invitational.
