The 58th Mt. SAC Invitational lived up to its slogan "The Largest Cross Country Invitational in the Nation." Spread over two days, more than10,000 runners from nearly 100 high schools participated in the Mt. SAC Invitational.

While the sun was out on Day1, it was nowhere to be seen on Day 2. That was just fine as far as the runners were concerned. Conditions were right for fabulous races......and that's just what happened.

A new course record was set for both individual and team and the girls rose to new #2 and #4 making this a FANTASTIC MEET!

New Marks, Celeb Status

Diego Mercado sets a new Mt. SAC Course Record

Diego was an instant celebrity. Walking out of the shoot he was mobbed by friends and fans, congratulating him and seeking his autograph and photo. Look closely for Diego's dark head in the middle of the picture. He's down there signing anything and everything the kids set in front of him.

Diego Mercado, West Covina CA Senior, set a new Mt. SAC course record with a time of 14:24.

Power comes in small packages.....Marie Lawrence NV and Jordan Hasay CA. Each won their race in record making time: Marie became #2 all time at Mt. SAC and Jordan #4.
Royal Simi Valley CA set new course record with 76:22 team time
