1500 men - Mark Matusak - 1500 women - Sarah Bowman -
- M 1500 - Loyola Los Angeles sr Mark Matusak , who won the Nike Outdoor Nationals 2-mile last week, beat U. Oregon freshman Galen Rupp , 3:47.07 to 3:47.47.
- W 1500 - Fauquier County VA sr Sarah Bowman , who ran the third fastest HS mile ever in winning the Nike Outdoor Nationals last week, wins in 4:18.48, with Erin Bedell TX second in 4:20.64.
- M 400 - Redan GA sr Justin Oliver 46.26, added this event to his Nike Indoor and Nike Outdoor championships, with Benson Portland OR jr Nate Anderson 46.47 a close second and collegian Lionel Larry 46.52 third.
- W 400 - Brandi Cross TX 52.65 was third and NON champ Brittany Jones FL was DQ'd for running out of her lane as Natasha Hastings , of the U. of South Carolina, won as expected in 51.34.
- M DT - Ryan Whiting PA 182-3 qualifies for Pan Am Juniors in a second event (he won the shot put), just 7 inches behind Edward Cornell of Cal-Long Beach 182-10.
- M 3k steeplechase - New York preps John Martinez 9:06.60 and Kevin McDermott 9:14.53 run 1-2.
- W 3k steeplechase - Marie Lawrence NV 10:40.95 is second to Lindsay Allen of Stanford 10:37.94.
- W Javelin - HS national record holder Rachel Yurkovich OR wins with a throw 166-01.

- W 10000m Walk - Preps entered are Boothbay ME jr Lauren Forgues and Nashotah WI jr Le'erin Voss.
- W 1500m final - Sarah Bowman VA 4:32.71 was fastest in prelim. Five more high school runners are in the final -- Caitlin Lane NY, Kara McKenna NY, Alison Smith MD, Erin Bedell TX and Hailee Elmore IL.
- M 1500m final - Nike Outdoor National 2-mile champ Mark Matusak CA 3:55.28 had the fastest qualifier, but U. Oregon freshman Galen Rupp 3:56.89 won the other heat.
- W 400m final - Florida soph Brittany Jones, Nike Outdoor Nationals champ, and Texas champ Brandi Cross won their heats, but U. South Carolina's Natasha Hastings won the third heat and is favored here. Krista Simkins PA is also in the final.
- M 400m final - Nike Indoor and Outdoor champ Justin Oliver GA was second fastest in the prelims behind collegian Lionel Larry. Other preps in the final are Jacob Scheuerman CO and Nate Anderson OR.
- M 3000m steeplechase - preps include John Martinez NY, Jared Swehosky OR, Kevin McDermott NY, Roel Elizalde TX, and Alexander Mason AZ.
- W 3000m steeplechase - Reno NV soph Marie Lawrence, winner of the 3k on the track Thursday night, tries for a double over the barriers.
- W Javelin - HS record holder Rachel Yurkovich OR , who was fifth in the senior event Thursday, goes against juniors today. Other preps entered -- Sarah Butler UT, Emalie Humphreys TX, Amy Backel PA, and Ashley McCrea OR.
- M Hammer - The 3rd through 6th ranking preps on Bob Gourley's List are entered - Zack Midles WA, Brad Charters WA, Brendan Lodge RI and David Schiedt GA.
- M Discus - Strong HS contingent includes Nike Outdoor Nationals champ Tommy Killen LA, US#1 Sean Pruitt WI, and shot put champ Ryan Whiting PA. Also -- Cameron Carter CO, Nick Panezich OH, Aaron Dan CA, and Bo Taylor CA.
