Holmwood Tech JAM 8:59.03 took the lead on the first lap and never trailed, with three US teams fighting for second -- Boys & Girls NY 9:04.82, Suffern NY 9:07.26, and Poly Long Beach CA 9:07.93. Gwynedd Mercy PA 9:11.80, which had been the fastest in the heats, ran slower in the finals for fifth. Holmwood's third leg, Bobbi Kay Wilkens blew the race open with a 2:11.8 split, allowing anchor Cassandra Powell 2:17.2 to trot home.
