1 Red Tide Milford, MI 17:27.01
1) Joel VanDerworp 05 2) Mike Andersen 05
3) Andrew McKeachie 08 4) Dana Pitcock 05
Great race with KROY (York HS Elmhurst, IL) Andersen brought Milford to within strides of the lead with a blazing 4:11.8 on the third leg. Pitcock dueled with Matt Dettman the KROY anchor and sealed the championship in the last 30m. Ironically, Pitcock finished 2nd in a similar situation in this race last year. His experience paid off this time around.

12 Sunset Striders 'A' 18:11.18
1) Bruce Kaczmarek 05 2) Andrew Kennedy 05

1 Red Tide Milford, MI 10:05.53
1) Mike Andersen 05 2) Matt Mondoux 05
3) Joel VanDerworp 05 4) Dana Pitcock 05
About 12 hours after their first national championship, Andersen was the hero on the anchor (4:12.0) fighting off three teams including Chris Barnicle and Newton North of Massachusetts for victory.

6 Jackalope RC – Pinckney, MI 10:14.23
1) Nick Katsefaras 05 2) Chad Wines 05
3) Keith Leirstein 06 4) Ian Boyle 05
Coach Tom Carney’s Pirates, runners up in the state D1 CC meet to Milford and 4th team overall at the D1 State Track Finals show why the Kensington Valley Conference is among the toughest distance conferences anywhere in the nation putting two teams in the DMR All-American slots. This was Boyle’s third All-Am performance this year and the second one for both Katsefaras and Wines who joined Boyle on the indoor 4xMile.

10 Spirit of Pre TC 'A' 10:19.69
1) David Mirabella 06 2) Tyler Patterson 06
3) Carter Bishop 05 4) Aaron Bachman 05
Once again, the defending champs acquit themselves well with a second top 10 finish after replacing three legs from last year.

When I spoke with state D1 Champ Coach Marc Parker of Mumford at the state meet, he feared that he wouldn’t be able to get his US #1 ranked squad to the meet due to JO qualifying conflicts. He and Mumford men’s mentor, Robert Lynch worked it out somehow and the Mumford women lived up to their #1 ranking with a convincing win--- beating 2nd place Miami (FL) Northwestern HS by 1.5 seconds!
