The Scene

The Great Southwest Track and Field Classic (GSW) is a post-season invitational for the states of Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah that has grown to be a major postseason event in high school track and field. To enhance the competition, some all star teams and individuals from outside of the region are invited to compete.

The GSW is held on the grounds of the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.The home of the "Lobos." (A lobo is a New Mexican gray wolf--El Lobo.) The stadium seats 6,000 and has an all-weather Versaturf surface for track and a natural grass surface for soccer.
