Crowds gathered inside the Reggie Lewis Track and Field Center for the 10th year showcase of track and field athletes in Boston. An impressive lineup of 11 medalists from the 2004 olympic games participated. In addition, this year an invitational mile for high school boys and girls was included and added an interesting youth perspective to the elite lineup.

On the Side

In the tradition of high school track and field, family, friends and fans came to Boston to hoot, holler and cheer on the side. Boston and the Reggie Lewis Track and Field Center were treated some of the best families and fans.

This weekend, Cody Harper from Albuquerque Academy, Albuquerque New Mexico signed a Letter of Intent with the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill NC. North Carolina's quality academic and athletic programs and fine coaching staff convinced Cody to head east for his college career. He expects his running skills and talent will contribute to the NC men's program. Here, Cody is pictured with his coach, Adam Kedge.

It's time for R & R

Ken Cormier and Laef Barnes give Chris Barnicle MA (right) a consoling hug. Much to his disappointment, Chris was not able to run in the Boston Games because of a MIAA (Massachusetts state association) ruling.. Chris wanted this picture to show that even though he couldn't run, he was still at the Games.

Ken got to Boston a week ago to run at a meet at Boston University. But the Blizzard of 2005 cancelled the meet and made getting back to Arizona so time consuming that he stayed in Boston to await the Boston Indoor Games and enjoy Boston's hospitality.

Kevin Tschirhart and Mary Liz McCurdy take time for some fun on the side.
