Lindsay Anderson winner of the freshman mile with her dad, Greg and sister, Krista. Making the most of the weather in North Dakota the Anderson sisters workout inside on the treadmill. It worked for both of them. Lindsay took first and Krista second in the 2 Mile. They live in Leeds ND, a city of about 630 population. So it's no surprise that they are the only 2 athletes on the cross country team.

The Harpers NM with daughter Lindsay and son Cody. Cody, a senior and signed to run at North Carolina next year, finished 4th. Lindsay, a sophomore, is also a distance runner and ran the mile at Nike Indoors.s

Bowerman Award for the Mile Winners

The Winners of the Mile are awarded the Bill Bowerman Trophy.

Bill Bowerman was a legendary track and field coach at the University of Oregon and the co-founder of Nike, Inc. While at the U of Oregon he guided 24 NCAA individual champions, won four national team titles and coached the U.S. track and field team in the 1972 Olympic Games. In 16 of his 24 years at Oregon his track teams finished in the top ten in the NCAA championships, and they had a dual-meet record of 114-20, a winning percentage of .843. He is credited with turning the college town of Eugene, Oregon, into the running capital of the world.
