28th Great Southwest Classic
May 22-24, 2003 at U. of New Mexico, Albuquerque NM
a DyeStat featured meet
4x400 - Texas "A" 3:08.16

Mark Teter and Jimmie Gordon, who were 1-2 in the open 400m, picked up Alief Elsik's Marvin Stevenson and Reagan Austin's Irie Williams for a formidable combination that ran away with this race. This meet traditionally has state all-star teams, so it counts as a meet record, but it won't make the national record lists for same-school teams in Jack Shepard's HIGH SCHOOL TRACK. That book shows only one high school time faster, the national high school record of 3:07.40 by Hawthorne CA in 1987.

Exchange 2 - Marvin Stevenson to Jimmie Gordon.
Jimmie Gordon gets underway

Exchange 3 - Gordon to Mark Teter

Anchor Mark Teter is all alone at the end.
