Long Beach Poly and Wilson renewed their rivalry in this battle that saw
both teams aiming for the national record. At the anchor exchange, it was
close, but any thoughts of Wilson winning were turned back as Shalonda
Solomon pulled away with her 51.2 anchor. The time crushed the record by
over three seconds.

”It was fine. We tried to stay relaxed and do what we know. We tried to do
what we were taught and not to worry about the opponent. I thought it was
going to be closer than it was, but we just did our best and that’s all we
