It was actually nice to get a competition in. With dual meets and everything, it’s kind of nice to have a competition with other people. It’s a new thing for the season. I’m getting to do that with Mt. Sac, the state meet and nationals. I’m kind of getting into that.
RQ: What did you think about your last three throws?
Grant: My last three, they were probably just as far as the other ones. I just didn’t feel like marking them. It was an OK day for me. It’s wasn’t an outstanding day. But I was only five feet from my PR so it wasn’t too bad of a day. I mean, I’ve kind of had a valley the last couple of weeks with practice and things. So, it was actually nice to get a good throw in today considering the practices were bad.
RQ: Are you looking forward to throwing at Mt. Sac? What about the record?
Grant: It’s definitely something that I worry about because so many people keep saying “she’s getting close, she’s getting close.” It’s obviously a goal for me, but if it doesn’t come there are other goals like winning state and nationals again. Those are my other goals. So if it happens, it happens, but if it doesn’t, it doesn’t.

It was awesome. I was happy to come out here and have a great series. I’ve thrown against her [Billie Joe Grant] three times, but one was at camp. She’s an awesome thrower. It was a long shot, but I was focusing on the things I can control. I had a really good practice yesterday so it’s been coming together. It works for me. I PR’ed by five feet. It makes me happy. I sure I hope I have more in me.
