A brilliant 24.4 anchor by Juanita
Broaddus helped William Penn PA overcome a near spill on their first
exchange. Broaddus took the baton in third place, apparently out
of the running for the win. "I just wanted to go," Broaddus
said. "They (Hempstead and Robeson) got out slow." When
she got free of the exchange zone traffic, Broaddus went out fast.
By the far turn, she was on the heels of the leaders and she blew
past them on the turn to take the lead into the stretch (right)
and seal the win in 1:44.72 |
