USA roster for World's (Allyson's on it.)
- An assault on the US high school 100/200 outdoor records, starting
at the Arcadia Invitational
next month. The 100 meter records are held by Angela Williams

[Boston] showed I'm ahead of where I was last year." And
she finished last year with a 22.83 200 meter win at the California

High
School Relays
The high school athletes got a chance to run in the big time. The New
England Athletics Congress arranged for all-star 4 x 400 relays by state.
The Boys
The Mass All-star team took the lead early. But a passing infraction on
the
first pass lead to their DQ. The Rhode Island team of Brendan Lambory
and
Kevin Woods (Warwick Vets), Yudekweh Gbas (Hope) and NE 55/300 winner
Bobby
Young (Warwick) got the win in 3:23.53.
Connecticut 3:24.45
New Hampshire 3:31.16
Vermont 3:31.49
Maine 3:37.40
The Girls
Mass State 300 champ Ashley Hubbard (Marshfield jr) had never run a 400
in
her life. So her first race was the lead off leg, and a three turn stagger.
Ugh! This did not phase Hubbard as she coolly sprinted a quick :56.5 opening
leg for the Mass team. Dennis-Yarmouth’s soph Katie Sherman took
18 yard
lead and her PR :57.5 opened to gap to about 25 yards. New England 55
hurdle
champ Tina Riel (Hopkinton) also PR’d with her :57.9 carry. That
put the New
England 300 champ Natasha Stevenson (Haverhill) into a big lead. Stevenson
cruised home in 58.9, a 3:51.28 win in the first all-star race.
Rhode Island 3:52.46
Connecticut 3:53.36
Vermont 3:57.51
New Hampshire 4:05.72
Maine 4:11.33
