CHAPTER 2

This is the 5th year of the Nike Indoor Championships. Year one meet was held in Columbus, Ohio; year two was in Bloomington, Indiana. For the past three years it has been in Landover, Maryland in the Wayne K. Curry or Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex.. Perhaps, Landover is home. The Center is new, made possible through a deal to construct the new Redskins Fed Ex Field just behind the Center. It's a great place for a large meet like the NIC because it's big, roomy, beautiful with a mondo surface and plenty of room for field events.

For the fans it's great viewing. There is plenty of unobstructed seating, food stands, milling around room and plenty of big restrooms! While our focus was in the Field House, the Center also has a huge pool, a wrestling gym, and a learning center complete with computers, teachers and tutors.

Now on to the meet!
