Wooded course featuring several hills, and unsure footing due to roots,
rocks and tree trunks.

Hills featured

Hernia Hill --up twice, once at 600 meters, and again at 4800 meters. Roots,
rocks, some sand. 40 meters. Steep
Sand Hill -- down twice, once at 125 meters, and again at 4100 meters. Soft sand
Sled hill -- up once at 1200 meters. Down once at 2 1/2. 100 meters. Steep.
Used as the city sled hill in winter. Have to brake on down due to steepness.
Toboggan hill -- Down once at 1300 meters. Up once at 3600 meters. Footing
so-so. 150 meters. Steep. Have to brake on downhill.
Step Hill -- Up once at 1400 meters. Down once at 3400 meters. Very steep.
Treacherous footing due to rotting tree branches used at one time for steps.
50 meters.

All of above hills are featured in the first and last mile of the course.
The second mile is made up of long gradual ups and downs. Very seldom are
you running in a straight line on this course. You are always running
around trees etc. lots of winding.

Times and runners.

The course is about 100 meters short of 5k. The course record is held by
Matt Jones of Reeths-Puffer (17:06). Matt ran in the mid 15s on other
courses. He was also State runner up in Class A in the mid 90s.
Three Michigan State Champions have run on the course several Times. Chris
Ingells, Tom Chorny (Indiana Grad. and USATF steeplechaser), and most
recently Fremonts own Riley Klingel D 2 state Champ. with a time of 15:25.
Rileys School record on the course is 17:18
