RacePacer is a wireless, programmable get-the-athlete focused-on-their-pace
tool for those who want to be the best.
There's
never been a training tool like this for track and XC athletes.
Running fast is being aware of what your pace actually is throughout
a race. To get control of pace, and to improve times, athletes have
to be aware of what they are doing in practice so they can work
on what is holding them back in races. The RacePacer™ empowers
athletes of all abilities to pinpoint just where they need to maintain
their effort during workouts. Using The RacePacer as a training
tool will help athletes increase speed and endurance, and ultimately
lead to faster times.

unity.
- It can be used indoor or outdoor on any standard or non-standard
track. It can even be used off the track for fartlek, hill

How
does it work?
The
RacePacer is made up of a Racer component and a series of Pacer
components. The Racer unit is a programmable computer that allows
you to set up the workout you want, from sprinter high speed to
multiple mile pace work. The Pacer units receive commands from the
Racer unit to keep the athlete focused on pace. Each Pacer unit
emits a highly visible yellow warning light as the athletes are
within seconds of their programmed target time, followed by a red
light when the target time is reached. Athletes focus on the station,
knowing that if they aren't past the station before the red light
comes on, they have missed their time.
Utilizing
the PALM as the wireless computer, The RacePacer uses proprietary
software to create and store workouts and workout performances for
review and future use. Future software upgrades are free with purchase.
Program the Racer computer (PALM) unit for the workout.
You build the workouts. You set up the splits for any distances,
at any pace. And the splits are variable speed. You can speed up
or slow down any splits during any portion of the workout. You can
vary the split times between any two Pacer units during any lap
of the workout. Program a two-mile workout using even splits. Or
program the pace to change at any distance. You also control the
delay between the Yellow "warning" lights and the Red pinpointed
pace lights. The Racer Unit sends pace information to Pacer units
via wireless transmission.
A
message from the inventor:
"People are always asking me, 'How do we get our
athletes running so fast?'* Running fast is being aware of your
pace all the way through the race. To get control of your pace,
to improve your times, you have to be aware of what you are doing
in practice. During workouts, The RacePacer allows you to pinpoint
just where you need to maintain effort and teaches the athlete to
do it. With the help of The RacePacer you now can use the same techniques
in your workouts that helped many national champions and record
breakers reach their goals. I believe using The RacePacer in your
workout program will help coaches and athletes increase speed and
endurance and ultimately achieve much faster times."
