Major Meets -


Capital City 7 on 7 Helena MT 10/6 - 3 miles

Boys - NW#4 Flathead 7 (they won all seven races) Bozeman 18 Helena 32 Billings West 40 Big Sky 42 and 25 others. First place overall was Elliot Welder at 15:47 by 7 seconds over teammate Seth Grossman (16:08).

Girls - NW#4 Bozeman 13 wins over NW#6 Flathead 15, NW#5 Billings Senior 17, Capital 32, Butte 46 and 26 more teams. The top time was Katie Gilboy (Capital) at 18:41. She was followed by Bridgette Hoenke (Bill Sr)(18:47), and Auriele Fain (Billings Sr)(19:09).

Richland WA 5k 10/8

Boys - NW#1/US#4 Mead 33 over NW#6 Hermiston 103, Juanita 119, East Valley 142, and 16 other teams. Mead's 15:48 average with 33 second spread was more than 30 seconds over Hermiston's 16:20. Frist place was Nick Atwood (East Valley) in 15:27. Mead runners went 2-4-6-8 spots.
Girls - Hermiston 90 won over Redmond 104, Richland 116, and 10 more teams. Hermiston's average was 19:47, while Redmond was at 19:48. Individual champion was Jennifer Macias at 18:09.

Boys Top 10 -

1) MEAD, WA -- Won Richland Invite 5k with 33 points over Hermiston 103, and 17 other teams. 15:48 average and 41 second spread for runners 1-7.

2) CENTRAL CATHOLIC, OR -- Rested all but #3 runner for MHC/PIL Crossover meet, scoring 37 points. No bearing on league standings. Central Catholic was fifth

3) BOISE, ID -- no meet

4) FLATHEAD, MT
-- Won Capital City 7 of 7 with perfect 7 (ie won all seven races). Bozeman 18, Helena 32. Total of 30 teams. Flathead had a 16:17 average, with the closest race at 5 seconds.

5) TAHOMA, WA -- no meet

6) HERMISTON, OR -- Second to Mead at Richland Invite, with a 16:20 average; their best big meet average.

7) FERRIS, WA -- Cam Quackenbush, former #4 runner, back soon after being out with appendicitus.

8) AUBURN RIVERSIDE, WA -- mistakenly noted fourth in Sunfair ahead of Sehome instead of 5th behind them.

9) SEHOME, WA -- rested

10) THURSTON, OR -- Easily won league double dual, with #3 runner Ry Peterson closing gap on big time 1-2 punch. Fifth runner has diabetes and can be up or down but first 4 are real solid.


Others To Watch:

North Central, WA -- won Bullpup Invite over North Central 50, Central Valley 77, Lewis and Clark 117, and seven other teams. 1st place - Ryan Zenta Lewis & Clark 16:33, 2 - Andrew Scott NC 16:35.

St Helens, OR -- 16:29 average at Jim Danner

Jesuit, OR -- “Crusader Harriers” perfect 15’s in league double dual. 6 runners 16:53 or better on slow course.


GIRLS TOP 10 -


1) GIG HARBOR, WA -- Won five-way meet with Gig Harbor at 22 points, Bellarmine 46, North Kitsap 56, Central Kitsap 126, and South Kitsap 129. Moderately hilly 5k. Nicole Cochran of Bellarmine won in 18:23. Gig Harbor average was 19:23, with all five runners in front of Bellarmine's #2 runner.

2) BOISE, ID -- no meet

3) JESUIT, OR -- easily won league dual with a 19:40 average on a course about 30 seconds slower than Jim Danner. Bailey Schutte and Adrienne McGuirk returned from injury.

4) BOZEMAN, MT -- Won Capital City 7 on 7 Meeting, with 13 over Flathead at 15, Billings Sr 17, and 31 total other teams. Average time was 19:32; winning races 3-4-5.

5) BILLINGS SENIOR, MT -- Third at Capital City, with 17 points and an average time of 19:39.

6) FLATHEAD, MT -- Second at Capital City, with 15 points and an average time of 19:36.

7) SNOHOMISH, WA -- no information

8) SQUALICUM, WA -- no information

9) WEST VALLEY, WA -- no meet

10) THOMAS JEFFERSON, WA -- Won league dual over Puyallup (21-38) and Graham-Kapowsin 15-50. Easy race with 3 of the top five not running. Course was 2.7 miles, so times were meaningless.


Others To Watch:

South Eugene, OR -- Won Puma Classic 5k with 49 points and a 19:29 average time over Summit 88, and 3 other Oregon ranked teams.

West Valley, AK -- won state meet for second straight title
