A trio of state-leading performances and announcement of the first ever Arizona High School Track & Field Meet of Champions share the spotlight.

The initial MOC is to be held Saturday, May 20, at 6 p.m. at Chandler High School. There will be eight competitors per event in the standard eight running events and six field events. No relays will be conducted this year. Qualifiers will be the winners of each event in the seven different AIA Conference/State championships with an eighth athlete to be the best non-winning performer. No doubling will be permitted, so an athlete qualifying in more than one event will choose which event to be in and a replacement(s) will be named according to who has the next best performance(s).

Chandler Rotary meet director Dave Shapiro, athletic director of host Chandler High School, is meet director.

The Tribune Invitational in Westwood Friday (4/21) produced seven Dyestat Elite qualifying marks and two Arizona-leading performances. Chandler's girls 4 x 100 improved from an earlier 48.21 to 48.14 in winning the one-lap relay.
