Centaurus Invitational September 10, 2005 Louisville, CO |
SW#1/US#6 Denver South loses for the second time in as many weekends to unranked Rampart of Colorado Springs. It looked as if the Rams were trying to run a more controlled race. Mo Ige (Denver South), who has been known to blast from the line, ran with the early lead pack of Williams of D Evelyn, Thornton's Anguel Tolev and teammates Abiud Mojica and M. Derele. They all stayed together through close to 2 miles, and then waited until Tolev made a move to leave his teammates. Coach Brad Barnes was heard to advise Ige to take it easy as he traded the lead with Tolev through the 3 mile mark. Tolev is a junior and will run the 5A division at state where Ige and his South team will be in 4A. Allyson Gohl dominated the girls race having
recovered from having her wisdom teeth removed less than 2 weeks ago
and having "dry socket" issues to deal with. She waited until
almost 1 1/2 miles to take the lead from early leader Galleher Top 10 Individual Boys: Teams: Top 10 Individual Girls Girls Teams |
