SW#1/US#6 Denver South wins their City meet, going 1 through 7, over a two mile course with some pavement and a lot of grass.

Denver City Meet: Partial Results:

Centaurus Invitational (September 10th)

SW#1/US#6 Denver South also raced this week at the Centaurus Invitational in Louisville, CO, and it appeared as if the team was trying to run a more controlled race.  Mo Ige, who has been known to blast from the line, ran with the early lead pack of Williams of D Evelyn, Thornton's Anguel Tolev and teammates Abiud Mojica and M. Derele through close to 2 miles, waited until Tolev made a move to leave his teammates.  Coach Brad Barnes was heard to advise Ige to take it easy as he traded the lead with Tolev through the 3 mile mark.  Tolev is a junior and will run the 5A division at state where Ige and his South team will be in 4A.

Bulldog/Utah County Invitational, Saturday, September 3

SW#7 Mountain View shows up at the Bulldog Event, which was a full 5K with tall grass and many steady hills and considered a very difficult course.  Along with many other schools present there were SW#3/US#20 American Fork and SW#6 Judge Memorial.  Although Mountain View’s top runner Adam McDonald was very ill, he still overcame his illness to help them win the meet.  Mountain View put their top 5 runners in the top 15 going 1,5,10,11, and 14 with a gap of less than 45 seconds.  The MV boys are on track to being one of the fastest teams to come out of Mountain View High School.

New Mexico

University of New Mexico Invitational

The Eldorado girls cross country team dominated with a score of 48 points at the UNM Invitational on Saturday, September 10th 2005.  Some say this year’s Eldorado team could be compared to last year’s excellent Los Alamos team, who finished 6th at the Nike Team Nationals inaugural meet.  In comparing average team times between the two teams from last year’s to this year’s the 2004 Los Alamos team 19:04, while this year’s Eldorado’s team covered the course with an average 18:56.  Look out for this Eldorado team cause right now they are on fire.
