Dakota Ridge HS was a runaway winner in both the girls
and the boys races at the Chris Severy Invitational in Aspen.
DR coach Mike Callor described the course as "the
truest cross-country course in the state. The start goes up two steep
hills to start, then runs through a bumpy, poor footing field. The course
is HARD, no PR's here." Callor added, "To put it in perspective,
Andrew Niccoli, my top guy, ran 15:55 at Liberty
Bell and 18:29 here.
My top girl, Alexa Rogers, ran 18:55 at Liberty
Bell and 22:44 here.
Its great to see a meet like this after running meets like Liberty
Bell where the competition is good, but the race is a road race, not a cross-country
race."
Dakota Ridge won the competition (scoring done on 4-person basis) without
its #3 boy and #4 girl.
