Fort Collins Boys and Fairview Girls win Colorado State Championships!

Course and conditions:  Course is grass and gravel trails at the El Pomar Recreation Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Overcast, upper 50s and lower 60s.

SW#1/US#6 Fort Collins High School boys repeated as the Colorado State Champions in class 5A on Saturday. They placed two in the top ten and scored at total of 110 points. Cherry Creek High School also had a strong finish, placing second overall with 161 points. Fort Collins was led once again by senior Noah Shannon (3rd overall) and senior Tyler Abbey (5th overall), both good enough for All-State. Steven Weeks of Arvada High School won individual honors, running the course in 15:42. Paul Brown finished 14th, Bryant Mason 22nd, and Jon Kittell 66th for the Lambkins.

SW#1/US#6 Fort Collins HS boys

Fairview High School girls placed three in the top ten to win the Colorado State Championships in class 5A with 96 points.  They were led by Meredith MacGregor (3rd overall), Morgan Stumb (6th overall), and Alexis Skarda (7th overall), all good enough for All-State.  SW#2 Rocky Mountain High School finished second in the team standings with 123 points. Keara Sammons of Smokey Hill High School won the individual title in 18:12. Sarah Cocco for Fairview finished 27th.
