SW#3/US#10 Page AZ falls to SW#5/US#18
Albuquerque Academy NM at Red Rock State Park in Gallup, NM. Both teams were at full
strength. Also in attendance were SW#10 Rio Rancho, and once SW ranked
Gallup and Los Alamos. 32 total team in attendance. Both team battled
hard the whole way with Page holding a slight edge until the last 200
meters. All other teams were never a factor in the race for the team
title.
The course had been changed form years past and a ½ mile long
arroyo was added to the last mile of the race. Timing malfunctions in
the boys’ varsity prohibit full race data.

making progress towards being at our best for the upcoming championship
meets. Page is a solid team with great packing. Their front runners could
not handle the 1-2 punch of (Dustin) Martin and (Ben)
Johnson who took
command of the race early only to be caught by Navajo Pine’s Ryan
Nez in the last ¼ of

Girls Summary:
Despite having a team of only 6 girls the
3A Santa Fe St. Michael’s handled the tradition rich schools of
Gallup and Los Alamos. Irenna Ossola (see
photo below - courtesy of Blake P. Wood) and her teammate Tess
Amer were
