Kyle Chandler reports, "On course condition - the altitude is a little above 6,000 ft for time adjustment comparisons with other states at or near sea level.  I know there is an altitude adjustment book for the various College tracks around the US.  For example, the UNC (Greeley, CO) track as an 18 second adjustment for men in 5000 meters and the altitude is about 4,800 feet so the 6,000 + altitude adjustment would be greater and the lower level of fitness (HS to College) would show a greater disparity between altitude and sea level.  Conservatively 20 seconds for the boys and 25 for the girls would be fair.  You may have access to that information (Air Force Academy is about the same altitude where the state meet is) and can look it up for comparison/ranking between states."

Girls

#1 Los Alamos NM

Won their home Invitational without the help of #2 Marisa Sandovol,
who sat out due to a lingering cough. Also, Coaches Hipwood report,
" #5/6 Analisa Sandoval also didn't run, resting from a stress fracture
discovered last Monday in her foot. Analisa felt some pain in
her foot during the final 200 meters at the Nike/Jim Danner meet. She
may be cleared to resume running a week fromthis coming Monday."
Much of the Los Alamos girls started back a few places from where they
finished and moved up in the middle of the race. In the end it looked
as if the Hilltopper girls measured their competition prior to the race
and ran with just enough effort to win decisively. Kristen Hemphill
shot to the front early and was never challenged as she went on the win by :25 seconds.

#5. Reno, NV

Raced at Mt. Sac where the girls were scheduled to race in the Team
Sweepstakes but Coach Roland Martin reports that, "... however, race
management requested that we run in the Individual Sweepstakes so
California's top girl, [Gunn Palo Alto, senior Tori Tyler] could run
head to head with Marie Lawrence [Lawrence wins in 16:48 to Tyler's
17:03]. The girls, without our number 5 runner, won the team
championship for the Individual Sweepstakes. In addition, the girls won
the Grand Sweepstakes over Murrieta Valley 1:34:07 to 1:35:54."
