Finished 7th at the Jim Danner Invitational (at Blue Lake Park, Gresham OR - 5k - Soft grass, some rolling hills, 62-68 degrees and no rain) falling to (unranked US) NW#9 Herminson, unranked Crater, and (unranked in the US) NW#3 Central Catholic.  Ferris and Jesuit were dominant, but Los Alamos was only 38 sec behind Mead (3rd) in total time for 5 guys.

On Wednesday, Mountain View, UT defeats Orem at their Regional Meet.

3. (US#18) Albuquerque Academy, NM

Albuquerque Academy won their 7th straight City title on Saturday, October 16th. La Cueva had a 15 point margin at the 1 mile mark but the Chargers stormed back to win by a dominating margin of 63 points (Academy 27, La Cueva 90).  Academy was paced by sr. Cody Harper in a wining time of 16:02. 2nd was NM 5A favorite so. Matt Tebo of Eldorado.   Harper's16:02 was well off the course record of 15:21 by Shadrack Kiptoo from 2003 but was the #8 all time mark on the Academy course. The course has now been run in 25 different invitational or championship meets.

4. Page, AZ

Won the Bud Davis Invitational in Tuba City, AZ. Page's #1 runner, Levi Lomeland, took a wrong turn with 800 meters from the finish, losing his first place lead. The Sand Devils are undefeated this season and next week head to the Mt. Sac Invitational. After Mt. Sac. its Regions and States.

5. Denver South, CO

6. Fort Collins, CO

Fort Collins ran at the City Meet with Rocky Mountian, Poudre and Fossil Ridge on Friday October 15th at Hughes Stadium in Fort Collins.  It was cloudy with periods of light rain/snow, temperature in the mid 40's. The 3.09 mile course was run at 5,000ft of elevation. It was comprised of gradual uphills and downhills as well as a few short hills particularly in the middle of the race. There was one race for the boys, including varsity and junior varsity runners, where the top five runners were scored. The girls race was run similarly.

Boys Recap:
As a team, Fort Collins ran an outstanding race averaging 16:15 pace for their first five runners. Noah Shannon led Fort Collins with a 2nd place finish with a time of 15:55. Shannon was followed by Michael Haas (16:12), Paul Brown (16:13), Paul Ringenberg (16:13), and Tyler Abbey (16:42). Again, Fort Collins was without another one of their top five runners (Andy Mauk) due to personal reasons. Last week, Paul Brown sat out last week to rest his injured knee. Shannon led most of the race but was followed closely by Aaron Braun of Rocky Mountain who was the eventual winner at 15:53. Braun finished 3rd (15:55) behind Roweberry (Orem) and Curry (Campbell County) at the Liberty Bell Invitaional. Fort Collins, Rocky Mountian, and Poudre will be at their Regional meet next week at Roland Moore Park in Fort Collins.

Completely dominated their Region One meet last week with all seven runners finishing in the top nine places.

Easily won the Elko Invitational, without their fifth runner (injured and not able to run for two weeks - hoping to back for the State Championships).

5. (US#18) South Tahoe, CA

Competed in the Elko Invitational, with their "B" Team.

7. Flowing Wells, AZ

Running in the Old Pueblo Invitational. It is a non team scored meet, they run races in each class (frosh, sophomores,etc). The meet is in Tucson on Saturday Oct. 16th. Next meet is Regionals on the 30th, and State on the 6th. No results of this meet at press time.

8. Mountain Pointe, AZ

9. Ganado, AZ

Was upset by 30 points at the Bud Davis Invitational in Tuba City, AZ by unranked Page, AZ High School.

10. Rocky Mountain, CO

Rocky Mountian was victorious over Fort Collins in the their City Meet by three points (29-32). The team race was close throughout as Rocky Mountian was victorious in the little battles leading to their first place finish. Katie Follett of Fort Collins, who remains undefeated in Colorado, pulled away from the field half way through the race. Follett ran 17:49 beating Danielle Parry of Rocky Mountain by 25 seconds (18:14). Rocky Mountian ran a great team race as they finished 2nd (Danielle Parry), 3rd (Ellie Rastall), 6th (McKenzie Maher), 7th (Allysee Fawcett), and 11th (Kelsey Thornton). Rocky Mountain averaged a 19:10. Fort Collins, averaging a 19:08, went 1st (Katie Follett), 4th (Alicia Holt), 8th (Gillian Allen), 9th (Maddie Dengler), and 10th (Hillary Allen). Fort Collins, Rocky Mountain, and Poudre will be at their Regional meet next week at Roland Moore Park in Fort Collins.
