FLASH RESULTS:

South Dakota State meet 5k for boys, 4k for girls 10/22/05

AA Boys: Marshall Kambestad (Stevens, Rapid City) win in 15:44, with Jon Williams (Yankton) second at 16:05 and Greg Beesley (Brandon Valley) third at 16:14. Williams leads HL#2 Yankton to the team title with 46 points. Second goes to Stevens with 76 and Rapid City Central is third with 100.

AA Girls: Betsy Bies (Yankton) roars to a 14:35 4k, with Allison Eckert (Roosevelt, Sioux Falls 15:05) and Krista Eckert (Roosevelt, Sioux Falls 15:09) second and third. Jessica Engel (Sturgis 15:12) and Tiffany Leader (Yankton 15:24) round out the top five in a very strong field. HL#1 Yankton puts all seven runners in the top twenty scorers to win with 34 points and a 15:26 average. HL#3 Roosevelt is second with 53 and a 15:40 average with HL#7 O' Gorman, Sioux Falls third (94, 16:11) and Stevens, Rapid City fourth (128, 16:25).

A Boys: Alex Pine (Pine Ridge) wins in 15:57 for 5k, with Gene Morrison (Chamberlain) second at 16:19 and Tyrone White (Cheyenne-Eagle Butte) third at 16:29. Hot Springs wins the boy's team title with 51 points, with Lennox second with 76 and Madison third with 79.

A Girls: Alida Oegema (St. Thomas More/Rapid City Christian, Rapid City) runs 15:42 to win easily, with Laura Wolles (Chester Area) second at 16;01 and Jordan Wohlleber (Cheyenne-Eagle Butte) third at 16;16. In a tight team race, Chamberlain wins with 77, edging St. Thomas More/ Rapid City Christian (78) and Beresford (82).

B Boys: Kiko Mendoza, a freshman from Tikini, won in 16:52, with Andrew Hilgemann (Eureka/Bowdle) close at 16:57. Phil Eagle (McIntosh) was third at 17:10. In three deep scoring, McIntosh wins with 37, with Eureka/Bowdie second (42) and Ipswich third (44).

B Girls: Emma Erickson (Gayville-Volin) wins in 16;03, with Nicole Rausch (Hoven/Edmunds Central) second at 16:11 and Steph Warnke (South Central) third at 16:27. In three deep scoring, Kimball (18) edges South Central (20) for the team title with Hoven/Edmunds Central (38) third.
