Olathe Quint @ Olathe District Athletic Complex, Olathe
Shawnee Mission Northwest prepped for a big showing at the KU Relays, with Tucker Weems soloing to a 9:35.0 3200 win, and team-mate Matt Morton winning the 1600 in 4:25.2. Josh Wayland (Olathe South) ran a 1:59.8 800 to edge Brett Imgrund (Shawnee Mission Northwest 2:00.4)., and Olathe East sophomore Dee Bell took a 10.83/ 51.3 sprint double.
Blue Valley Northwest's Laura Roxberg won the 800 in 2:26.6, and Kristen Erlich (Shawnee Mission Northwest) won the 300H in 47.8.

Leavenworth Invitational @ Leavenworth HS
Host Leavenworth swept to victory in both the boys and girls divisions of their home invitational. The Lady Pioneers scored a mammoth 218 points, with Bishop Miege (Shawnee Mission) second with 125 and Shawnee Mission East third with 79 points. The Pioneer boys scored 129.5 points, with Shawnee Mission East second with 112.5 and Shawnee Mission North third with 99.
Charity Stowers led the Leavenworth, winning the LJ (17-0), HJ (5-6) and 400 (57.16), plus running a leg on the 4:02.98 4 x 400 winner. Sprints were strong, with Shalisa Williams (Bishop Miege) winning the 100 in 11.95 over team mate Trolisa Williams (12.10). In the 200 Leavenworth's Tiesha Stewart ran 26.37 to win, the Miege's Leslie Reynolds second at 26.8. Miege won a 48.54 4 x 100. Kristen Wolkey (Shawnee Mission North) won the 1600 at 5:14.0, and Shawnee Mission East ran 10:08 in the 4 x 800 to edge Leavenworth by one second.
Boys action was highlighted by a 10.77/ 22.86 sprint double by Washington's (Kansas City) Stucky (no first name recorded). Washington also won the 4 x 100 in 42.84. Leavenworth's Mark Spencer won the JT at 179-4.

Northern Heights Invitational @ NHHS, Allen
Northern Heights boys won their own invitational with 149 points, with Pleasant Ridge second with 64. Top marks included a 6-2 HJ win from Nick Stoppel (Osage City) and a 12.53/ 26/19/ 15.54 100/200/100H triple win from Burlington sophomore Katie Guevel. No girls team scores reported.

Lyons Invitational @ Lyons HS
Larned swept to wins in the boys (144 points over runner-up Ellinwood 103) and girls (166 points to runner-up Little River's 126) divisions.
Lyon's Leah Thompson, defending 3A 3200 champ, won the 1600 (5:31.9) and 3200 (12:04.7).

Bucklin Invitational @ Bucklin HS
Macksville edged St. John 87-77 for the boys team title, and won the girls title handily with 120 point total to Skyline (Pratt)'s 67.
Hanston's Austin Rodger's (1A state-runnerup in 2004) won the 110H at 15.0, and Skyline's Richert took a 11.3/ 50.8 100/ 400 double.
Bucklin junior Kelsey Erb, the defending 1A HJ champ, took her specialty at 5-7, and also won the LJ at 16-0.75. Erb was second to Skyline's Lynette Egging in the TJ (34-9 to 34-2.5). Macksville's Jenna Wood smoked to a 13 second victory in the 800 running 2:19.4, and teammate Kristi Oak won the 200 (26.8) and 400 (61.8). Macksville also won 4:12.9 (4 x 400) and 4 x 800 (10:16.7 over Kinsley 10:19.5) relays, very fast for 1A schools.

Bennington Invitational @ Bennington HS
Clifton-Clyde rolled to a team sweep, romping to a 131 point total on the boys side over Pike Valley (Scandia) second place 62. The girls scored 70 points to edge Pike Valley and Lakeside (Downs), both with 61.
Top mark went to Clifton-Clyde's Begnoche (no first name recorded) with a 6-2 HJ win.

Viking Invitational @ Smoky Valley HS, Lindsborg
Abilene won the boys title with 101.5 points, with host Smoky Valley second with 80, and Smoky Valley won the girls title with 128.5 points with Sacred Heart (Salina) second with 72 points. Hillsboro's Funk (no first name reported) won the HJ (6-0) and PV (13-6) and Southeast of Saline's sophomore Clinton MacDonald won the 800 (2:01.5), 1600 (4:46.0) and 3200 (10:30.5)
On the girls side, Smokey Valley Koch (no first name reported) won the shot at 38-9.5 and disc (113-10). Brooke Kent (Southeast of Saline) won the TJ (36-3) and 100 (12.8).

Cunningham Relays @ Cunningham HS
Ulysses won the boys team title with 124 points, with Holcomb second with 96. Holcomb and Lamar OK tied for the girls title with 80 points. Sublette's Shayla Lehning, a recent signee with K-State's nationally ranked women's basketball program, won the JT at 130-5 and also took both hurdle races (16.3/ 47.5).
