GIRLS HIGHLIGHTS: 
  100:  Kendra Bradley (Leavenworth) began a four gold medal day with an 11.92 triumph, with Ashley Smith (Olathe Northwest 12.33) and Sharonda Law (Leavenwoth 12.39) and Ilana Pavin (Olathe South 12.55) following.
  200:  Kendra Bradley (Leavenworth) blitzed the turn and pulled away in the homestretch for a 24.93 win, with Ashley Smith (Olathe Northwest 25.64) edging Lashonda Sims (Leavenwoth 25.77) for second and Ilana Pavin (Olathe South 26.11) in fourth.
  400:  Kendra Bradley of Leavenworth again!  Bradley dominated the race, winning in 56.13.  Kristen Gillespie (SM South 58.05) edged the Lawrence twins Kristina (58.25) and Jennifer (59.05) Taylor for second, with Lashonda Sims (Leavenworth 59.84) also under 60 in fifth.
  800:  Kristin Gillespie (SM South) pulled away from a fast field in the homestretch to win in 2:19.53, with also fast closing Heather Klotz (Leavenworth 2:21.81) in second.  Sami Foulk (Olathe NW 2:24.03), Jennifer Taylor (Lawrence 2:24.92) and Amanda Miller (Olathe East 2:25.45) followed in a deep field.
  1600:  Alysha Valencia (Free State, Lawrence) and Amanda Miller (Olathe East) lit out at 67-2:26 for the first two laps, pulling the field with them.  Valencia pulled away in the last two laps to a 5:06.19 triumph, with Miller (5:15.66) holding off hard-charging Heather Klotz (Leavenworth 5;16.01 at the line).  Kelly Renfro (Lawrence 5:26.58), Allison Knoll (SMNW 5:27.30), Kyra Kilwein (Free State, Lawrence 5;27.62), and Deede Cabrey (Leavenworth 5:28.36) also went under 5:30 in the deepest league mile in Kansas.
  3200:  Alysha Valencia (Free State, Lawrence) went out fast early and pulled away to a 10:50.79 victory.  Behind her, a fast and deep pack race for second was won by Kelly Renfro (Lawrence 11:39.10), with Allie Marquis (SMS 11:44.84), Kyra Kilwein (Free State, Lawrence 11:45.78), Sarah Nackley (SMNW 11:47.52), Deede Cabrey (Leavenworth 11:47.80), Riley Wertenberger (Olathe East 11;52.40) and Allison Knoll (SMNW 11:57.81) leading nine under 12:00.
  100H:  Lawrence's Amy Magnuson made her intentions known with a 14.53 heat win, with Kelly Smith of SM West running 15.29.  In the final, Magnuson blasted to a 14.28 win, with Smith second (16.04) and the Olathe East pair of Nayshona Jones (16.09) and Kayley Otto (16.15) fourth and fifth.
  300H:  Courtney Barber (Lawrence) dashed over the hurdles to a 47.07 win, with Simon Storms (SME) second at 48.34, holding off Taqueyla Green (Leavenworth 48.48), with Annie Fulton (Olathe Northwest 49.09) fourth.  4 x 100:  Leavenworth loaded up, with Kendra Bradley anchoring the team to a 48.70 win.  Olathe East was a fast second at 49.60, with Olathe North (50.30) and Lawrence (50.80) in third and fourth.
  4 x 200:  Olathe East blasted away early and ran to a 1:47.71 win.   Leavenworth was second at 1:50.54, with SM South 1:51.01 and Free State, Lawrence 1:53.24 following.
  4 x 400:  Lawrence overcame a dropped baton exchange, and still won, running 4:02.53.  Olathe East pressured the Lions throughout the race and was second at 4:05.50, with SM South third (4;08.69) and Olathe NW fourth (4:15.70).
  Sprint Medley Relay:  Alysha Valencia ran her anchor 800 in the 2:20 range, pulling Free State, Lawrence to a 4:22.21 win.  Olathe East was a solitary second at 4:29.86, with SM South (4;33.61) overhauling early leader Leavenworth (4;34.76) for third.
  HJ:  Courtney Barber (Lawrence) overcame a deep field to win on misses at 5-4 from Emma Brooke (Free State, Lawrence).  Brooke Carter (Free State, Lawrence) took third at 5-2 on misses from Liz Beisner (Lawrence).
  PV:  Pesky winds made vaulting difficult.  Olathe South's Abby Crenshaw handled the conditions best, winning at 10-6.  Emily Leiker (Free State, Lawrence) took second from Julia Cummings (SM South) at 10-0 with Christen Botteron (SMNW) fourth at 9-6.
  LJ:  A close, intense competition saw Vashunta Johnson (Leavenworth) leap 17-4.25 to edge Amy Magnuson (Lawrence 17-4.25) on second best jumps, with Brook Carter (Free State, Lawrence) also close at 17-2.5.  Brianna Willard (Olathe North) took fourth at 16-4.
  TJ: Three of the state's top jumpers delt with gusty winds as best they could, with Amy Magnuson (Lawrence) going 37-0 to win, edging Victoria Henson (Leavenworth 36-10).  Danielle McCray (Olathe East), the KU Relays champ, was third at 35-9.25 with Vashunta Johnson (Leavenworth 35-1.5) also over 35 feet.
  SP:  Danille McCray (Olathe East) dominated, tossing the shot 45-3.  Dana Olsen (38-8) and Jennifer Anderson (38-7) gave SM South a 2-3 finish, and Lindsay Simms (Free State, Lawrence) was fourth at 34-8.
  DT:  Danielle McCray (Olathe East) handled the unfriendly winds best, throwing 137-7 to win by almost fifteen feet. Amber Bowles (Leavenworth) threw 123-10.5 for second with Jennifer Anderson (SM South 116-6) and Samone Hendricks (Olathe East 103-9) in third and fourth.
  JT:  Lauren Busch (SM South) launched the spear 133-0 to win, and teammate Holly Myers threw 118-11 for second. Free State, Lawrence teammates Tricia Dunham (111-9) and Aubry Morris (105-8) were third and fourth.

BOYS HIGHLIGHTS:
  100:  Shawnee Mission East got their drive to the title started quickly, as sophomore Terrance Thomas ripped a state-leading 10.44, with previous state leader Dee Bell (Olathe East) second at 10.59.  Evan Pierson (Olathe South 10.71) and Austin Winn (Free State, Lawrence 10.83) were fast in third and fourth.
  200:  The Free State duo of Austin Winn (22.22) and Keron Toussaint (22.27) roared around the turn and took off down the homestretch to go 1-2, with Nathan Hickey (Lawrence) third at 22.38 and Evan Pierson (Olathe South) fourth at 22.52.  Dee Bell (Olathe East) led the heats at 21.87.
  400:  Ethan Holloway (Olathe NW 48.94) and Keron Toussaint (Free State, Lawrence 48.96) thrilled the crowd with a great homestretch duel, Holloway barely edging Toussaint at the line.  Nathan Hickey (Lawrence) was also under 50 at 49.97 and Aryan Long (Olathe North 50.65) was fourth.
  800:  John McCormick (SM East) fought past early leader Bret Imgrund (SMNW) in the final stretch to win 1:57.63 to 1:58.39.  Elliot Harvey (SM South 1:58.58) and Jimmy Ward (SM West 1:58.63) were also under 2:00.
  1600:  Bret Imgrund (SMNW 4:23.35) and Scott Gillespie (SM South 4:23.97) waged a dandy fight for the title with Imgrund winning the homestretch fight.  John McCormick (SM East) was third at 4:32.47 and MJ Hassaballa (Free State, Lawrence 4:34.71) fourth.
  3200:  Will O' Donnell (SMNW) pulled away from the pack to win in 9:50.81, with Jake Taylor (SM South 9:59.90), Kelly Gallagher (SM South 10:00.41) and Rick Stahl (SMNW 10:01.56) winning the medals in a tight race that saw seven break 10:10.
  110H:  A fast deep race saw Robert Sanders (SMN) run 14.73 to win, with Aaron Sawyer (SMN) second at 15.08 and Jake Catloth (Olathe North) third at 15.14.  Courteny Hines was fourth at 15.21.
  300H:  Robert Sanders (SMN) dashed 40.12 to win, holding off Jake Catloth (Olathe North 40.25) and Andrew Pennington (SME 40.38).  Evan Mesh (41.42) was fourth.
  4 x 100:  Free State, Lawrence blasted away to a fast 42.29 win, with Olathe East second at 42.86.  Olathe NW was third at 43.21 and Olathe South fourth at 43.35.
  4 x 200:  Free State, Lawrence won easily in 1:31.42, with Lawrence 1:33.06, Olathe East 1:33.92 and Shawnee Mission East 1:35.28 following.
  4 x 400:  400 rivals Keron Toussaint (Free State, Lawrence) and Ethan Holloway (Olathe Northwest) went at it again, with Toussaint triumphant this time, leading Free State to a 3:26.51 to 3:27.48 win.  Lawrence (3:29.61) edged Shawnee Mission South (3:29.64) and Shawnee Mission East (3:29.69) for third.
  4 x 800:  State leader Shawnee Mission South (8:16.96) fought through the winds and held off a game Olathe East (8:19.85) squad to win.  Shawnee Mission East (8:31.13) and Shawnee Mission West (8:33.73) were 3-4.
  Sprint Medley:  Shawnee Mission Northwest's Bret Imgrund held off Shawnee Mission South (3:40.45 to 3:40.81) to win, with Free State, Lawrence (3:43.33) and Olathe East (3:44.40) following.
  HJ:  Peter Helmuth (SME) jumped 6-6 to edge Kevin Logan (Lawrence) on misses, with Aryan Long (Olathe North 6-4) third and Cliff Townsend (Leavenworth 6-0) fourth.
  PV:  Daniell Beattie and Tanner Sauvan both cleared 12-6 to go 1-2 with Luke Craft (Olathe North 12-0) taking third on misses from a pack of Eric Chapman and Clay Frans (Olathe East).
  LJ:  Tony Bryant (Olathe South) lept 23-5.25 for a huge win.  Dylan Ballard (SME) was second at 22-4.25, with Ryan Murphy (Free State, Lawrence 21-9.75) and Wardell Watkins (Olathe North 21-7) fourth in an event with seven over 21 feet.
  TJ:   Aryan Long (Olathe North 42-9.5), shaded Olathe Northwests' Leland Lindsay (42-5.5) and Wardell Watkins (42-3.5).  Shaun James (Free State, Lawrence) was the first non-Olathean, in fourth at 42-2.5.
  SP:  Scott Penney (Lawrence) tossed the ball 54-5.5 to win, with Victor Butler (Leavenworth) second at 52-4.  Uliti Fangupo (Lawrence 49-8) and Don Atkinson (SME 48-9.5) were third and fourth.
  DT:  Scott Penny (Lawrence) won another throws gold, tossing the platter 152-2 to win, with Justin Holmes (SM South) second at 150-8.  Dillon Goins was third at 147-8 and Tyler Rodden (Olathe NW) fourth at 145-7.
  JT:  Travis Tannahill (Olathe East) launched the javelin 190-9 in tricky winds to win.  Mike Beeler (177-5) and Blake Lawrence (176-6) gave SM West a 2-3 finish with John Duvall (SM) third at 168-10.
