MISSOURI
    University City Invitational @ University City 4/8/06 - FULL RESULTS

   University High, St. Louis scored 119 points to win the boy's division of the University City Invitational, with Marquette second with 92, and Washington won a tight girls race with 87 points, with Eureka (85), Ladue (84) and University City (81) all close.
   Paul Chaney led S.L.U.H, winning the 100 (10.68), 200 (21.85) and 400 (49.68) all by solid margins, and running on a 3:24.47 4 x 400 winner.  Fast races abounded during the day.  Josh Sams (Ladue) won the 800 in 1:56.19 with Brad Austin (Francis Howell, St. Charles) second at 1:58.15 and Bruce Suber (University City) third in 1:58.68.  Victor Halamicek (Francis Howell, St. Charles) took a distance double from deep fields, winning the 1600 (4;27.18) AND 3200 (9:38.64).  Ladue ran 8:15.07 to take the 4 x 800 from University City (8:16.90).    
   Chris Collier (Marquette) ran 15.16 to win the 110H and Stephen Simmons (S.L.U.H) ran 39.37 to lead team mate Eric Hunt (39.93) to a one-two in the 300H. Simmons also ran 22.26 for second in the 200.  Sprint Relay wins went to Berkeley in the 4 x 100 (43.80 over S.L.U.H 43.89) and Washington in the 4 x 200 (1:32.86).
   Top field marks for the boys included C.J. Johnson (Marquette) winning the LJ at 21-6 and taking second to Chauntez Tyus (McCluer 46-5) in the TJ with a 45-10 mark.  Andrew Heider (Eureka) vaulted 13-0 to win on misses from Micky Defilippo (MICDS, St. Louis). 
    Washington was led to it's girls title by Mary Nothum, who beat deep fields to win the 1600 (5:11.16 with Molly Schlamb of Ladue second at 5:17.20) and 800 (2:20.87). 
    Yratis Williams (Ladue) won the 400 in 59.08 from NaTasha Blair (McCluer 59.78), and LaShayla Bell (University City) won the hurdles in 15.59/ 46.74.  Eureka edged Berekely in a fast 4 x 100 (50.39-50.59), while Berkeley ran 1:46.06 to Eureka's 1:47.12 in the 4 x 200.  Ali Kooser (12:06.01) and Anna Shafer-Skelton (12:09.37) ran one-two for University City in the 3200. Danielle Oliver (Ladue) won the 100 in 12.35.
    Top field marks went to Jessi Wood (Washington 5-2 HJ), Abby Dampier (Ft. Zumwalt South 120-4 DT) and Karmen Clar (McCluer North 39-6 SP).

Early Bird Relays @ Grant City 4/3/06
  Worth County swept to victory in both the boys and girls divisions, with the best mark being a 54-6 shot put by Patrick Fitzgerald of North Harrison


   Missouri Relays,  Audrey J. Walton Stadium, University of Missouri, Columbia 3/31-4/1-06
      Girls :  Dea Dea Sieckmann (Owensville) ran 12.73 to edge Jenna Sitte (Waukesha West WI 12.79) in the 100, the won the 200 in 26.30.  Alyssa Allison (Festus) won the 400 in 59.33, with Jillian Kyle (Lafayette, St. Louis) second at 60.02.
        Deep, deep fields made for outstanding distance races, with Mary Nothum of Washington doing some star power running.  Nothum won the 1600 in 5:10.68, with a Megan Hudson (Crystal City 5;11.58) and Lauren Bourduin (Rock Bridge, Columbia 5;12.41) close behind.  Laura Koch (5:17.87) and Alyssa Beste (5:18:24) were both under 5:20 for Waukesha West WI.
      Lauren Bourdin led five under the meet record in 800, running 2:16.22 for a solid win, with Emily Baker (Lafayette, St. Louis 2:18.58) and Mary Nothum (Washington 2:19.42) also under 2:20.
      Nothum also scored a victory in the 3200 (11:19.38) for two golds and a bronze in the distances.  Alyssa Beste (Waukesha West WI 11:21.39) was a close second with Meagan Hudson (Crystal City 11:31.39) and Megan Bourbon (Potosi 11:54.47) under 12.
     Crystal City freshman Precious Selmon romped in the hurdles, winning the 100H in 15.14 after a 14.98w heat, and returning to take the 300H in 46.63 from Leslie Farmer (Jefferson City 47.19).
      Waukesha West WI ran 50.55 to win the 4 x 100 from Jefferson City's 51.47, and also ran 1:48.46 to win the 4 x 200 from the Jays (1:50.59).  Jefferson City romped to victory in the 4 x 400 (4:10.18).  Waukesha West also won the 4 x 800 (9:58.83, with Jefferson City second at 10:08.13 and Lafayette, St. Louis third at 10:14.75) and Distance Medley (13:12.97 to Lafayette's 13:17.87).  Washington won the Shuttle Hurdle Relays at 70.12.
      Field event marks were strong, with Brianne Holtkamp (Jefferson City) winning the HJ (5-2) and the Jeff City duo of Vera Neuenswander (11-0) and Breanna Bussell (10-0) going 1-2 in the PV.  Precious Selman (Crystal City) won her third event of the meet in the LJ (18-10.5) with Leandra McGruder (Jefferson City) close behind at 18-9.75.  Asia Walker (Hickman, Columbia) won the TJ at 35-6.  Lauren Hershey (Helias, Jefferson City) won the shot at 38-0.25, with Brittany Borman (Festus) second at 37-5.5, then placed second to Jessica Ecker (Festus) in the disc 113-11 to 107-4.  Erin Alewine (Jefferson City) won the pentathalon with 2418 points, including a 5-3.25 HJ.
    Boys:  Thomas Brown of Fulton ruled the short sprints, winning the 100 easily in 11.08 after a 10.97 heat, and won the 200 by almost a second at 22.44.  Derrick Shepard (Jefferson City) won the 400 in 51.51.
     Potosi flexed it's muscles in the distances, with Josh Thebeau winning the 800 in 1:57.57 from Damon Morris (Jefferson City 1:59.26), with Josh Mathis (Potosi) third at 2:01.04.  Thebeau (4:17.08) and Mathis (4:19.00) ran to an impressive one-two in the 1600, with a deep field following with eight runners under 4:30.  Mathis (9:18.15) and Thebeau (9:31.63) also ran one-two in the 3200, with Larry Paul (Wright City) third in both races at 4:24.32/ 9:36.72. 
    Tyre Brown (Raytown) won the 110H in 15.70, and Parks Peterson (Farmington) won the 300H at 41.30. 
    Rock Bridge, Columbia won the 4 x 100 in 44.67, edging Farmington (44.72), and also took the 4 x 200 (1:33.80).  Jefferson City won the 4 x 400 (3:33.11) with School of the Osage (3:35.80) second.  Potosi continued it's distance success, running 8:05.25 to win the 4 x 800 with Jefferson City second at 8:11.81.  Jefferson City won the Distance Medley (10:55.74) with Potosi second (10:57.00) and Hickman, Columbia third (10:59.89).  Jefferson City won the Shuttle Hurdle by almost ten seconds in 68.33.
   Eric Mueller (Jefferson City) won the HJ at 6-1, and team mate Ben Licklider won the PV at 12-6.  David Seamon (21-0.75) and David Noble (20-9.25) went one-two in the long jump for Rock Bridge, Columbia. and Devon Peltier (43-2.5) and Tyre Brown (42-8.25) did the same in the triple jump for Raytown.
   Andrew Oaker (Steelville 58-8) and Drew Frizzell (Chillicothe 57-11.25) hooked up for a high level duel in the shot, with Frizell (164-9) turning the table on Oaker (164-0) in the discus.  Chris Hafner (Farmington) won the pentathlon with 2410 points.

KANSAS 
    Olathe Invitational @ Olathe District Athletic Complex 4/7/06  ( Full results to be reported).  

Olathe East swept to victories in both the boy's and girl's divisions of the Olathe Invitational on a windy, cool night.  East scored 154 in the girls division, with Shawnee Mission South second with 122 points, and scored 136 to win the boys meet over SM South's 102.
     Danielle McCray led East with three wins, winning each event on one attempt before leaving early for an awards dinner.  McCray won the shot with a toss of 43-10, the disc with a throw of 120-7, and an against the wind 33-7.25 to win the TJ.  East also got a 12:21.54 win from Riley Wertenberger in the 3200.  Olathe North's Nicole Slattery dominated the speed events, winning the 100 (12.95), 100H (15.83) and 300H (51.24).  Kristen Gillespie (SM South) scored an nice 59.84/ 2:21.21 (2nd)  400/800 double.  Lauren Bush (SM South) won the javelin at 125-10.5, and Diane Cummings (SM South) won the vault at 11-0.
    An outstanding 1600 saw defending 5A state champ Kali George (Gardner-Edgerton), 6A cross country runner-up Amanda Miller (Olathe East) and highly regarded Erin Beck (Blue Valley North) rip through the wind at a 69/ 2:30 clip before George pulled away on the final lap for swift 5:08.7 win.  Miller was second (5:21.0) and Beck third (5:22.3).  George returned to win the 800 in 2:19.67.
    Gardner-Edgerton's Luke Laird had an outstanding 193-3 javelin toss for boy's top mark.
Jake Catloth (Olathe North) won the hurdles in 15.9/ 42.93 and Mark Del Nero (Blue Valley North) won the 1600 in 4:30.85, while Justin Bowen (Gardner-Edgerton) handled tricky winds well to win the vault at 14-0.

      Blue Valley Relays @ Blue Valley HS, Overland Park 4/8/06
   Alysha Valencia and Austin Winn (both of Free State, Lawrence) were named Athletes of the Meet at the Blue Valley Relays on a cool but sunny afternoon at the Blue Valley Relays.  Valencia won the 1600 (5:19.93), 3200 (11:16.25) and anchored the winning DMR (13:16.44).  Winn won the boy's award by winning the 100 (11.11) and running on winning 4 x 100 (43.19) and 4 x 200 (1:31.30) teams.  Other top marks included St. Thomas Aquinas, Overland Park winning the girls 4 x 800 in 10:06.04, Faith Livingston (SM North) the girls 100 in 12.39 and triple jump at 34-10, Liz Minoofar (Blue Valley) 128-6 in the javelin and Brent Imgrund (Shawnee Mission Northwest) winning the 3200 in 9:44.63.

    Bonner Springs, led by Eddie McClain's 6-4 high jump win, won the boy's team title with 146 points to runner-up Tonganoxie's 116.  Daniel Everhart (Turner, Kansas City) turned a nice distance double, winning in 4:44.56/ 10:00.98 on a cool, windy night.  Tonganoxie overwhelmed the girl's field with 227 points.  Roxie Grizzle led Tonganoxie, with an outstanding JT of 134-5, and also won the shot at 38-3.

    Topeka Relays @ Hummer Sports Park, Topeka 4/7/06
Seaman, Topeka won the boys team title and Leavenworth the girls at the Topeka Relays held on a windy evening at Hummer Sports Park.  Seaman's boy's were led by senior Brandon Wegner, who won the LJ at 22-6.5 over Blue Valley West's Brandon McCoy (22-0.5).  McCoy came back to win the TJ (45-6) by a half inch over Wegner.  Seaman also got wins from Clay Schneider in the  1600 (4:35.38 over Leavenworth's David Hansen 4:39.20) and 800 (2:08.42). Other impressive wins included Lawrence's Brad Penny in the shot (53-7) and disc (154-10), Hutchinson with a 8:25.19 4 x 800 and Sklyer Delmott (Emporia) won the 3200 at 10:01.95
    Kendra Bradley led Leavenworth's girls, winning the 100 (12.09), 200 (25.67) and 400 (64.07).  Leavenworth also won the 4 x 800 (9:55.81), 4 x 100 (51.65) and 4 x 400 (4:25.79), and got a 17-1 LJ win from Vashunta Johnson.  Laura Roxberg of Blue Valley Northwest won two tough distance races, going 5:24.17 to win from Lauren Bonds (Hutchinson 5;24.43) and Heather Klotz (Leavenworth 5:27.9) and the 800 in 2:27.52 from Layne Moore's (Emporia) 2:29.58.    Bonds returned to win the 3200 (11:43.24) with Michaela Reynolds (Emporia) second at 11:53.30.  Amy Magnuson (Lawrence) won the TJ (34-11.75) and 100H (15.26)
