The season started slow a couple weeks back, but things are starting to heat up here in the Midwest Region. A few big meets occurred in various states, however, the biggest in-season meets are still on their way. Sprint times have been fantastic all season long in the Midwest, both individually and in the relays. However, distance times have started to come down and the field events are starting to become better and better.
Illinois
Al Joyner Invitational, East St. Louis – 4/21
This meet featured a match-up between two of the powerhouse schools (maybe the top two) teams in Illinois. East St. Louis Sr. went head-to-head with Cahokia and boy, were some great results put forth. Cahokia won the meet with 192 points; outscoring second place East St. Louis (160 points).
