Regional Highlights

Badger state athletes hit all time lists.Preble Green Bay sr Steve Marcelle 66-8 SP, second best all time in Wisconsin. Bradley Tech 1:28.08 4x200 (Vincent Milwaukee 1:28.18 and Menomonee Falls 1:28.50) -- Wisconsin #1, #4 and #7 all time. Preble Green Bay sr Steve Marcelle 66-8 SP, Wisconsin #2 all time. Germantown sr Adam Schleis 14.25 110H. Waukesha North sr Alicia Pabich 4:59.35 1600.

La Crosse, WI (5/28/05) -- WIAA Regional and Sectional competition completed this week. The 110th WIAA State Track and Field Championships will be held on Friday and Saturday in La Crosse.

The boys were led by some fantastic 800 meter relay teams this week. Bradley Tech at 1:28.08, Milwaukee Vincent at 1:28.18 and Menomonee Falls at 1:28.50 are the #1, #4 and #7 best times ever.

Other top boys performances this week included:

Green Bay Preble senior Steve Marcelle who threw the second furthest outdoor shot put in Wisconsin history at 66-8, Stevens Point senior Ray Moore ran 10.72 and 21.84 in the short dashes, Milwaukee Vincent senior Calvin Wallace tied Moore at 21.84 in the 200 meters, Dave Jones Milwaukee Vincent senior took over the 400 meter lead at 48.52, super frosh Andrew Perkins from Watertown lowered his list leading 800 meter time to 1:54.50, Iola-Scandinavia junior Malachi Cate ran 4:16.99 in the 1600 meters, Germantown senior Adam Schleis ran 14.25 in the 110 meter high hurdles, Erik Felt senior from Arrowhead ran 38.73 in the 300 meter hurdles, Milwaukee Vincent's 400 meter relay team ran 42.14 and Green Bay East junior Matt Fisher retook the high jump lead he held for much of the year at 6-9.

The top girls performance this week was set by the Waukesha West 3200 meter relay team. Their time of 9:21.88 is the 4th best all-time.

Other girls highlights included:

Racine Case sophomore Akaila Cabell and Holmen junior Joanna Schultz both ran 24.9 in the 200 meters, Stratford junior Dani Owen ran 2:16.39 in the 800 meters, Waukesha North senior Alicia Pabich ran 4:59.35 in the 1600 meters, Fond du Lac junior Katie Hopper ran 15.10 in the 100 meter high hurdles, Two Rivers junior Alissa threw the discus 138-7, Bradley Tech ran 48.94 in the 400 meters.
