On the girls side the premier race was the Portage Invitational.  Three top ten teams were in this race and all of them fared well.  MW #9 Rockford MI took home the team title, as they pulled out the narrow victory over MW #7 Goodrich MI 117-118.  This was a huge win for Rockford, as they look to head into the state meet with some nice momentum.  The return of Rachel Wittum provided a big boost to Rockford as she finished first in the race.  MW #6 St. Ursula Academy OH finished a strong third, as they had a great pack but lacked a frontrunner to match up with the other two squads.  MW #1 Clarkston MI rolled to an easy victory at the Oakland County Championships, while MW #2 Bowling Green OH continued to dominate Ohio, as they easily won their invitational as well placing their top seven in the top fourteen spots.  Clarkston and Bowling Green are insanely dominant this season. On the boys side the premier match-up of the weekend took place in Michigan.

MW #2 Milford MI boys and MW #9 Novi MI went head to head at Oakland County and while Milford won the meet 57-68, Novi still proved they will be a team to keep an eye on as teams enter the home stretch of their seasons.  US #1 York IL took the weekend off to prep up for the big meets ahead, while MW #3 Palatine IL and MW #4 Hamilton Southeastern did the same thing.

Top 10 Schedule

Boys

1. York IL They will not be competing this weekend.

2. Milford MI They will be competing at the Oakland County Invitational, where they will go head to head with some of Michigan 's top boys teams. They will be facing off against MW #10 Novi as well as a few other Michigan ranked teams. This meet will provide a huge test for this team, probably the toughest test since the Midwest Meet of Champions.

3. Palatine IL They will not be running their varsity top seven this weekend.

4. Hamilton Southeastern IN They do not compete this weekend as they gear up for their sectional race next Tuesday.

5. Madison West WI They do not compete this weekend in an invitational after running very well last weekend at the Great American Cross Country Festival.

6. Dexter MI Dexter has slowly but surely been improving the past few weeks, and this week they will get to test out just how far they have come since the Midwest Meet of Champions as they compete at the Portage Invitational. Led by Lex Williams and Tony Nalli, Dexter has the 1-2 punch up front and the strong pack backing them up to really do some damage.

7. Lawrence North IN After competing in some big time meets the past few weekends you would think Lawrence North could take a week off and recover as the state series approaches. However, this is not the case as they will face off against two other top ten teams in Indiana , including previously ranked Carmel High School . Lawrence North will be competing in their conference championships, the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference Championship .

8. La Salle OH Yet another great Cincinnati team that makes the Midwest top ten rankings. La Salle placed very well last weekend at the Great American Cross Country Festival, which bumped them into the Midwest top ten. They are one of the up and coming teams in the rankings, even though they have been one of Ohio 's elite this season. They will be competing at the Les Worthington Invitational this weekend, where they will hope to really make their mark and prove that they are indeed a top ten team regionally.

9. Centerville OH - They will not be racing their varsity A team this weekend, as they have their B squad compete in their own invitational, the Centerville Invitational.

10. Novi MI They will be competing at their county meet, the Oakland County Invitational. This is Novi's first time in the Midwest top ten rankings, so they will have some new stress placed on them. They are a strong team though and should show up and respond well to the challenge. They will get a big test as they take on US #9 MW #2 Milford.

Girls

1. Clarkston MI After sitting out there top runners now for what seems like forever, the varsity girls will be back in action as they compete in their county meet at Kensington Park .

2. Bowling Green OH They will be traveling to the Centerville Invitational, which will feature four top ten ranked teams in Ohio . Bowling Green will be challenged by Mason, Centerville and Turpin, but with their depth and dominance shown over the past few weeks they should have little trouble beating a very talented field. This Bowling Green team is unstoppable right now and with everyone running healthy they will be a tough team to beat for the rest of the season.

3. Naperville North IL They are not competing this weekend.

4. Waukesha West WI After one of the most dominating performances of the season in the Midwest , Waukesha West will return to action as they head to the Middleton Invitational. This team has a lot of momentum right now and should feel confident that they can beat any team in Wisconsin and hold their own in the Midwest as well.

5. Cathedral Indianapolis IN Their varsity girls will not be in action, as their schedule shows that their JV/FR runners will only be competing at the Howe Invitational.

6. St. Ursula Academy OH They will be competing at the Portage Invitational in Michigan . Once there, they will face off against MW #7 Goodrich, who decided to move up from the second division so they could go head to head with St. Ursula. St. Ursula has been running strong lately and been training hard, so it will be interesting to see how well they show against another top notch team this weekend.

7. Goodrich MI This team has caught fire the past few weeks and has been running like the great team that they are. This weekend they will be at the Portage Invitational, where they will face off against MW #6 St. Ursula in the division one race. This is a great test for Goodrich as the season starts to really heat up.

8. Northridge IN They do not have a meet this weekend, but will be competing in their conference meet this Thursday.

9. Rockford MI With the return of their number one girl and some momentum from some big wins as of late, Rockford has leaped onto the rankings for the first time this season.

10. Arrowhead WI After taking a beating last weekend, Arrowhead will bounce back as they compete at the WLHS Coed Invitational, where they will pair up with their boys squad and run against some good squads.
