Boys - Girls
Details : Rushville IN - Hamilton County IN - Rebel Invitational WI - Hornet-Red Devil IL -
Lafayette Harrison IN - Dave Swarts' Michigan Report - Scott Bush's Illinois report -

A lot of teams in the Midwest did not run this week, or ran a variety of small dual meets within their local communities. Next weekend should be more exciting as the Midwest Meet of Champions takes place (a slew of top Midwest teams will be there), as well as the Carmel Invitational (which will host some of the best teams in Indiana). Here is what went down this week:

Boys

NTN ranked teams:

  1. York IL – They did not race this week, but did have a bunch of very difficult workouts that resulted in some amazing performances.
  2. Columbus North IN – They lost to Hamilton Southeastern last week at Rushville, and won a small tri-meet this week. They will be at the Carmel Invitational this coming weekend, where they will be able to face up with #6 Carmel.
  3. Dexter MI – No major competitions this past weekend. They will be at the Midwest Meet of Champions next weekend.
  4. Milford MI – Milford had no major competitions this past week. They will be at the Midwest MOC next weekend.
  5. Palatine IL – Palatine opened the week with a close dual meet win over Hersey 25-30. However, once the weekend came along, Palatine showed just how good they really are. Palatine scored a mere 35 points, to beat a quality field at the Hornet/Red Devil Invitational. The second place team was Neuqua Valley, who scored 106 points. While Palatine did very well, they can still improve quite a bit, since they were missing one of their top four in junior Steve Finley, who was out because of a lung infection.
    Palatine
    1 Glenn Morris (Jr.) – 15:12
    2 James Macatangay (Sr.) – 15:16
    4 John Lancaster (Sr.) – 15:34
    13 Matt Moss (Sr.) – 16:13
    15 Robert Conley (Sr.) – 16:17
    20 Ryan Zachar (Sr.) – 16:31
    31 Daniel Holbach (Jr.) – 16:46
  6. Carmel IN – They had a huge week. On Tuesday they beat Hamilton Southeastern 33-43 at the Hamilton County Invitational. Hamilton Southeastern was the team that beat #2 Columbus North last week in an invitational.

Carmel's split was 37 seconds from 1-5. 1:03 split 1-7. After Shaw, all their runners seem to be interchangeable. Next weekend, Carmel will be hosting the Carmel Invitational, which will also include Columbus North, who will be looking to bounce back from early season defeat.
