field at the Marcus I Invite with 68 points. They were led by sr JB
Lagos in 4th, put 3 in the top 11 and 5 in the top 25. SO#4
Marcus TX was 2nd with 114 with SO#6 Southlake
Carroll TX 3rd with 119. Marcus sr Jake
Cosby was 6th while Carroll had the individual winner in soph Colby
Lowe. Keep an eye on Carroll freshman CJ
Brown who won the JV race in 16:20 which would have put him 12th
in the Varsity field.

Humble TX and SO#8 Kingwood TX met
at the Andy Wells Invite hosted by Kingwood. Kingwood took the team
title with 38 points with 5 in the top 11. A&M Consolidated took
the silver with 57 and had individual winner jr Duncan
Phillips (state #4 returner, 4:10/9:18 PRs) in 15:22. Mayde
Creek was 3rd with 107 and Humble came in 4th with 117 without the
services of #1 man Scott Zivick.

As if the SO#1/US#6 Southlake Carroll TX, SO#3
Marcus TX and SO#4 Keller TX girls teams
were not enough the Marcus I Invite also featured 3 Foot Locker finalists!
Keller won the team title with 94 points and had a 1:20 1-5 split. Marcus was
2nd with 104 and a fine :21 second 1-5 split. Southlake Carroll split its best
runners equally between 2 teams and team "A" was 3rd with 129. Carroll's
combined team would have scored 38 points (1-4-8-10-15) to win convincingly.
Southlake Carroll sr Miranda Walker (Foot Locker
finalist) took the individual crown with a 10:56 for 3200m. Paradise sr Loren
Hodges was 2nd in 11:07 followed by 2 more Foot Locker finalists - Keller
sr Carlene Mayfield in 11:15 and Southlake Carroll
sr Brooke Upshaw in 11:24.
