NE#7 Warwick Valley NY sets individual and team average records at home kick-off meet, Wave Mania. NE#9 Monsignor Farrell NY wins Wagner College Inv. Teams: 1. Fayetteville-Manlius NY - Opens 9/17 at South Jefferson Invitational, site of their Sectional championships. 2. Christian Brothers Academy NJ – Home dual meets against Freehold and Howell on 9/13 and 9/15. 3. Morris Hills NJ – 9/13 duals meet with Weequahic HS. Opens 9/17 at Regis Inv @ Van Cortland Park vs. NE#9 Monsignor Farrell NY. 4. Manheim Township PA - Ran well minus one man 8/30 vs. Coatesville in unscored scrimmage. 9/10 - Reasonably comfortable win at Gettysburg Invitational, with Foot Locker finalist Craig Miller, now a senior, going 14:56. Most of team set PRs, training through the meet. Second place Cumberland Valley led by PA 3200 AAA state champs Curtis Bixler, 4th in 15:41. Miller's sub-15, fastest PA XC 5K since Mike McWilliams in 1989. Manheim Township was missing their #3 man to a minor injury. Light fog. Cool. No wind. Fast, dry, grass and trail course with two minor hills. Coatesville PA – Took five of top ten spots at 9/3 Big Valley Invitational for easy win... but ran into another of those state championship-producing Ches-Mont League (West Chester Henderson) buzz- saws, this one from West Chester East at the 9/10 Abington Invitational. East's Duriel Hardy won in 15:52, as they also took 5th, 6th, 7th and 12th with a 40-second spread to win 31 to 53. Results not yet available for 9/10 Abington Invitational. 9/3 Big Valley Invitational @ Indian Valley Middle School 5K, Sunny, warm 1 Coatesville 1 3 5 7 10 26 17 20 1 16:07 Kyle Dawson 11 Coatcsville 6. Saratoga Springs NY - Dual meets coming 9/13 vs. Shaker and Ballston, and 9/20 vs. Burnt Hills and Columbia. Open 9/24 at Great American Invitational. 7. Warwick Valley NY - Opened 9/10 at home Wave Mania 5K and beats Pope John NJ 25-66 behind course record of #1 Mike Mark in 15:48. Top three Warwick runners broke the old record set by Warwick's Jake Laroe at 16:00.1. Five-man average of 16:10.8 broke Varsity record of 17:00.4. Warwick Valley will be running their "B" team on 9/17 at the Suffern Invitational. 16:10.8 average Results from John Nepolitan 8. Ridgewood NJ - Dual meet 9/13 vs. Belleville, Nutley and Teaneck. 9. Monsignor Farrell NY - Monsignor Farrell swept the team titles at the Wagner College Invitational 9/10 at Clove Lakes Park. The varsity was led by the 1-2-3 sweep of Dan Lewis 16:12, Jeff Carbonella 16:16, and Vito Cannavo in 16:19.
