hard packed dirt trail in between.
In the boys race, Harrier Magazine's number 12 nationally ranked squad from
Jefferson with a dominating performance in a very tough district. Judging
from a strictly time basis, with all races on the same course and with very
comparable weather conditions, Jefferson's number six runner would have been
fifth in the Patriot District; second in the Liberty District and the winner
in the National District.
The girls race was essentially a dual meet from the start and although
Herndon placed their top five among the top nine; Jefferson, led by winner
Sarah Levine, put four in the top six to claim the victory.

The Northern Region Championships will be held on Thursday, November 7 at
Burke Lake Park. Boys race to begin at 3:30 p.m. and the girls race to start
at 4:15 p.m.
