Knoxville West's Dusty Miller, TN 1600M champ, took the lead
in the first 400M and was not challenged. Lance Ivey of Oak Ridge, 2nd to
Miller at the first area All-Comers meet, had a great last mile to edge Chris
Bush of William Blount and Bobby Beeson of Bearden for 2nd.
The team race went to Science Hill with a 13, 16, 18, 20, 27 finish. Oak
Ridge was a close 2nd. McMinn Co's #1 runner (in third with 800 to go)
dropped out dooming them to a 4th place finish.

Shannon Capps of Knoxville Central trailed Jamie Demonia of Oak Ridge at the
top of the new Melton Hill Dam Course's only hill, but quickly raced the down
hill and took a commanding lead with 1200 to go. It was Capps first ever All
comers meet win.
In the team competition, Knoxville West finished 8, 9, 10, 12, and 20 to take
the meet with Farragut, running without #1 runner Christen Olsen, and Oak
Ridge just behind.

 

The next KIL Coaches All Comers meet will be Saturday, September 7th, on
Cherokee Blvd. at 9AM.
