Tuesday, January 14:
Delaware County Girls' Championships @ Haverford College -
Penn Wood sprinter Chioma Nwaneshiudu dominated the short
races, going 7.0 in both the trials and the finals of the 55 dash, and
26.1 in the 200. When the race was over 800 meters, Cardinal O'Hara
either won it or was in it. Mary Debevec took the 800 in 2:24.8;
Danielle Schopf the 3000 in 10:48.0; and the O'Hara 4x800 was 1st in
10:06.6. O'Hara's Erin Kelly was 2nd to Prendi's Nicole O'Dea (5:25.0)in
the mile by 2.4 seconds; while the DMR was 2nd to Radnor (13:20.5) by
7.7 seconds.

Thursday, January 16:
Swarthmore Delco Classic @ Swarthmore College -
Glen Mills' Tyree Suber continued his march toward an indoor 60-footer
with a throw of 57-01. Strath Haven hurdler Phil Atkinson went 7.64 in
the trials, then 7.57 in the finals of the 55 Hurdles. Sprinter Mike
Bentley of Chester, held off Upper Darby's Marquis Hall by .16, going
6.36 in the 55 Dash. Strath Haven took three of four relays, getting 2nd
in the DMR.

Friday, January 17:
DVGTCA Meet #6 @ Ursinus College -
Rachel Giannascoli, Alicia York, Julia Sommers and Fiana York of Haverford High
unleashed the best 4x800 in PA this season that also happens to be the
#3 time in the US. Their 9:37.6 led Cardinal O'Hara in second with a
9:43.3 and Hatboro-Horsham in third in 9:44.3. The 800 was fast, too,
with Perkiomen Valley's Sarah Roberts going 2:19.5. In the Mile, St.
Hubert's Amy Kelly was first in 5:15.9, just over two seconds ahead of
Downingtown's Jessie Yester. Boyertown's Natalie Miller took the High
Jump clearing 5-04. Christina Smith, William Penn, was impressive in the
600 yard run in 1:25.9. Denise Tetkowski, Archbishop Ryan, won both the
55 Hurdles (8.5) and the Long Jump (16-09.75). Wissahickon soph Krista
Simpkins captured the 200 in 25.5 and anchored their 4x400 to a win in
4:07.5.

Saturday, January 18:
TFCAGP Division 2 Meet #6 @ Haverford College -
They're gettin' serious in the 800, as four guys cracked 2:00, led by
Chris Kessler of Sun Valley in 1:56.7. Distance ace Mark Korich of
Springfield (Montco) was 2nd in 1:57.0, Radnor's Sam Dalke, 3rd in
1:59.1, and Upper Dublin's Eric Bowles, 4th in 1:59.3. Kessler's effort
was a meet record. Carson Pickens, Germantown Friends, clearned 6-04 in
the High Jump. Conwell Egan's Steve Slatin also set a meet record 6.9 in
the 60 Dash, as did Methacton's Blake Taylor in the Triple Jump, going
43-09.

Saturday, January 18:
TFCAGP Division 1 Meet #6 @ Haverford College -
Another Triple Jump over 44' to add to the growing group in one of the
deepest events in PA this season. Downingtown's Adam Woodford went
44-05.75 to win by more than two feet. In the High Jump, St. Joe Prep's
Juan Cave cleared 6-4. Abington captured both the 4x200 (1:37.9) and the
4x800 (8:25.1); while North Penn posted a strong 3:31.0 in the 4x400,
and Downingtown a quality 10:50.2 in the DMR.

Saturday, January 18
F&M Invitational @ Franklin & Marshall College -
Lancaster McCaskey senior Kenny Covington blew away the field in the 55
dash, going to a 6.2 to vault to the top of the PA Indoor charts, and
place himself squarely in the top 10 of the country. Oxford's Drew
Eckman captured two events, the 400 in 50.9 and the 200 in 23.1. The
Huss twins did another one-two act, with Debbie getting the better of
Amy by three seconds in the 1600 in 5:12. The 3200 was elite as well,
with Betsy Sensenig of Ephrata holding off Lampeter-Strasburg's Emily
Kruger 11:02.4 to 11:05.0. Kirsten Andrews, Garden Spot, won three
events, the Long Jump (15-08), the Pole Vault (9-06), and the 55 Hurdles
(8.8).

Saturday, January 18:
Kutztown University Maroon & Gold @ Kutztown University -
Ryan Whiting, Central Dauphin, upped his distance in the
Shot Put this season to a PA #2 55-09. Lindsey Regan of Easton, cleared
11-00 in the Pole Vault, while Harrisburg's Andre Hicks cleared 6-04 in
the High Jump. Archbishop Ryan's Denise Tetkowski took three events, the
200 in 27.33, the 55 Hurdles in 8.97, and the Triple Jump with a leap of
34-07.50.
