Friday, January 10: Dickinson College High School Invitational @
Dickinson College - Central Dauphin's Ryan Whiting continued his strong
early season, throwing 53-06.50 to take the Shot Put. Greenwood's
Jessica Kratzer was top for the girls with a toss of 36-11.25. York's
Knowledge Timmons captured both the 55 Dash (6.4) and the 200 (23.5).
James Wood's (VA) Kristina Novara was also a double victor, taking the
mile in 5:42.0 and the 3200 in 12:57.0. Cedar Cliff senior Pat Philbin
ran alone to an easy win in the boys' 3200 in 9:51.0. Hershey won three
of the four relays, with the boys taking both the 4x800 (9:00) and the
4x400 (3:54), and the girls winning the 4x800 in 10:56, while getting
2nd by three seconds in the 4x400 in 4:34 to McLean, VA.

Friday, January 10: DVGTCA Meet #5 @ Lehigh University - New US#'s 3-4
with St. Hubert's (Kate Mahaffey, Megan Neary, Rachel Papin, Amy Kelly)
posted the best PA DMR of the season, holding off Cardinal O'Hara by
just 1.5 seconds in 12:35.0. Before heading off the New York and the
Hispanic Games on 1/11, William Penn's Christina Smith did an
evening-before warm-up getting 1st in the 55 Hurdles in 8.4. In the High
Jump, Boyertown's Natalie Miller cleared 5-05, the best in PA this
season.

Saturday, January 11: TSTCA #3 @ Slippery Rock University - Hickory's
Andrew Rademacher was leaping hurdles and bars all night, and it
garnered him two firsts and a second place. In his best event, the Pole
Vault, he cleared 14-06. Without benefit of a pole, he got over at 6-0
in the High Jump. And in the 55 meter Hurdles, he was 2nd by .1 to
teammate EJ McLaurin, who went 7.8. For the girls, North Allegheny
teammates Kim Markle and Shannon Yon went 1-2 in the High Jump, both
clearing 5-04. Double winners included Carlett Nance of Penn Hills, who
took the 55 Dash in 7.4 and the 200 in 27.5. McDowell's Nicole Smith
took the jumps with a 17-04 effort in the Long Jump, and 34-04 effort in
the Triple Jump. State AAA XC Champ Christine Taranto was 2nd in the 800
by .9 to Bridget Alex of Mt. Lebanon, who was timed in 2:31.1.

Saturday, January 11: TFCAGP Division 2 Meet #5 @ Lehigh University -
Another season, another good jumper from Girard College. Jason Hammond
moved up to a tie for 3rd in the state with a leap of 44-11, matching
the season best of Great Valley's Galen Rivers, who was 2nd with a leap
of 43-11.50. Sean Plunkett of Chestnut Hill Academy won the Shot Put
with a toss of 52-09. Blake Taylor, Methacton, cleared 6-04 to win the
High Jump. Upper Moreland took both the 4x400 (3:41.1) and the 4x800
(8:29.6).

Saturday, January 11: TFCAGP Division 1 Meet #5 @ Lehigh University -
Norristown's Mike Whitehead lept to the top of the state indoor lists
with his 46-01.50 triple jump, winning by over 2.5 feet. LaSalle won the
4x800 in 8:14.8. Quakertown's Adam Breisch matched his season-best 800,
going 1:59.5.
