9th Mountain West Classic

1,200 runners from 50 schools - Flathead MT jr Zoe Nelson 17:03 missed her own course record by only one second and won the Classic for the third straight year. Nelson told the Missoulian newspaper she is trying to start slower this year to avoid her chronic stomach aches, but she still opened a huge lead after one mile in 5:40 and won by 52 seconds. Helena MT jr Jon Metropolous 15:27 won his third straight race this season. Nelson and Metropolous led their teams to the team titles.
