Jared Huske continues to roar; 4 wins lead Highland Park Topeka to team title. Leavenworth wins girls title.

Jared Huske continued to roar over the hurdles this season, blasting a
13.7 in the 110H at the Topeka Seaman Relays. Huske led his Topeka
Highland Park team to a 78 point total and the team title. Emporia (70)
was second and Lawrence (57.5) edged Shawnee Mission Northwest for third
(57) in a meet traditionally featuring many of Kansas' best teams.
Huske also won the 100 in 10.7 over John Childs (Leavenworth 10.7),
the 300H in 39.2 and ran on a 42.9 4 x 100 winner.

Lawrence Free State ran a meet record 7:59.9 in the 4 x 800, and how
two in the top three of a strong 800 field. Adam Reilly (Topeka Hayden)
ran 1:57.5 to shade Danny Schneider (1:58.7) and Nick Squier (1:58.8),
both from Free State. Reilly also won the 1600 in 4:28.1.

A big javelin showdown saw Mike Garrison (SMNW) throw 188-4 to win
from Andrew Gerth (Manhattan 171-7) and Aaron Lockwood (Topeka Seaman)
threw 54-4 to win the SP.

Leavenworth scored 114.5 for a solid win the girls division, with
Lawrence Free State second (75) and Blue Valley North third (57).
Charity Stowers led Leavenworth, winning the 400 in 58.8 and running on
49.9 (4 x 100) and 4:10.8 (4 x 4) winners, and placing second to Free
State's Sam Frisbee in the HJ (both 5-4). Leavenworth also ran 10:06.9
to win the 4 x 800.

Layne Moore (Emporia) ran 2:18.9 and 5:07.6 to win the 800 and 1600,
with Laura Kelley (Blue Valley North) second inthe 1600 at 5;10.3.
Kelley returned to win the 3200 in 11:09.5, with Alysha Valencia (Free
State) a close second at 11:10.3, and SMNW's Haley Harbert third at
11:17.7.
Autumn Weaver (Jefferson County West) won the SP at 39-9, Whitney
Fuller (Blue Valley North) the PV at 10-6 and VaShunta Johnson
(Leavenworth) the LJ at 17-2 for strong field event victories.
