CONFERENCE WEEK IN THE HOOSIER STATE !
This week was conference week in the Hoosier State. There were no really big upsets in conference week, but there will be a small mix-up in this week's state rankings. Maybe the most impressive performance came from the boys team of FW Northrop HS. FW Northrop is ranked #2 in Indiana, and in the SAC faced two other top 10 teams in FW Concordia HS and FW Snider HS. Even with very good competition, the Bruins were still able to put six guys among the top seven finishers to run away with 19 points, and with their 14th consecutive SAC title.
* The IHSAA state-wide tournament begins with first-round Sectional meets on Tuesday, October 15 and Regional meet on Saturday, October 19.

Northeast Hoosier Conference (10-9-02)

Men
New Haven HS (#20 Indiana) win their first ever NHC title with 69 points. Their top 5 runners placed: 7th, 9th, 12th, 20th, and 22nd. Un-ranked FW Carroll and Bellmont earned 74 and 83 points, respectively, to take 2nd and 3rd over DeKalb HS (#16 Indiana). DeKalb was the highest-ranked team coming in, and even had senior Josh Wolfe win the meet in 15:55, but only managed 4th overall with 88 points.

This was a good team race and individual race. Freshmen Leslee Getts (DeKalb HS) and Samantha Lee (Homestead HS) were 1st (14:45) and 2nd (14:51), and led their teams to the top two positions. DeKalb girls (#4 Indiana) won the meet with 40 points, and Homestead (#15 Indiana) placed 2nd with 49 points.
